well, here are a list of movie to absolutely avoid!

Tenjho Tenge: Absolutely unlikeable characters, In the end, I just wish they all can die already.

My-Hime: Same issue, you really don't feel like cheering for anyone. There's really no emotional attachment with anybody there.


Oh, a few people have recommended, but if you want to watch a semi-serious anime. Watch "Cowboy Bebop", absolutely masterful, the one of only anime I would recommend watch the dub version.

Yeah I really hate getting into something without an ending. I let GTO slide though, 'cuz he really is my hero, and every second I got to spend with him was magical, so I accepted the rushed ending of the second season that time around.

The latter parts are very emotional and it explains a lot. Though the ending is pretty anticlimactic.
It is absolutely worth reading through though, especially by the way you praise it, it would be a crime not to read through the whole story even once.

I would recommend watching the anime but skipping the last arc of the anime, since its not really part of the story. For some reason it gets tiresome reading from beginning to end so its better to watch then read.
