Forums - Sony Discussion - Opinion Piece: Sony Likely to Acquire Ready at Dawn Following The Order 1886

But Insommniac games  developed exclusively for Playstation for 10 years too and now they developing for Xbox

... and on PlayStation still.

Not a whole lot lost in that situation, really, apart from lists for console wars on forums.  Sony still get Insomniac's output and still own the IP.

I'm not quite sure what point you were trying to make here, anyway?

I don't think Sony will. This is nothing but speculation without any kind of evidence or even mere hints from RaD or Sony. I don't see Sony acquiring any (videogame) company any time soon.

Highly unlikely but I guess it's possible if The Order sells really well.

Why is it highly unlikely?

I think Sony is fine with 2nd party deals with RAD, there's just less of a risk. If the Order is a big hit though (3-4m+ maybe) I can see them buying them.

Because I don't think Sony just buys up studios just for the sake of it. There's a discussion, agreement, and then an execution of the acquisiton. Of course, I'm not 100% positive, but I doubt they've ever acquired a studio that didn't want that.

Well, you can't actively buy a private company without the companies permission. So yeah, it is pretty safe to assume that any dev that is purchased by Sony wants to be bought

The game seems like it's built to make profit so commercial success is almost a sure thing. Then, with the second title they'll have more funds allotted for multiplayer, expanding the lore/universe and making a game in the same scope of Uncharted 2. It makes sense for Sony to pick them up but as others have pointed out... why didn't they do that with Insomniac?

Yeah, youre right. I just recall a few points in history where a 2nd party studio branches out and falls flat, or lose that creative edge that made them so unique. Nostalgia and love for some of those devs makes it hard to watch

It might happen, but for some reason I doubt it.

i thought they were out of money.

and why would they buy a studio because of this one game ? or are there other games i dont know about..

Because Ready at down didn't release any games on Xbox that they will always be the case if Sony buy them there is 0% probability that Ready at down will make multiplatform games.

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

Being bought by Sony isn't the road to the easy life. Certainly not like it used to be anyway. Sony has closed studios left and right over the last few years. It might be better if RAD stands on their own. Once this sells then they can look for a good publisher and go multiplat and make more money.

They've never been out of money and this studio has been making games for Sony for a decade.

all i know is they were selling all kinds of stuff so it was safe to assume that they need the money.
