Looking at the just posted figures on VG Chartz and it seems as though the Wii U numbers are just plain bad.  Looking back the system had a good bump in sales for a few months because of MK8 but that doesnt seem to be the case with Smash.  Why do you think this is??  Is Smash losing its popularity?  The Wii U falling behind the PS3 in sales is just plain sad.  What are your thoughts?

Well, Smash was released during the holiday period, so the bump was likely less noticeable. Even so, it had its best week ever because of Smash.

Also, the baseline seems to have improved since its release. So I wouldn't say it hasn't done anything. It's not fantastic by any means, but it's better than it was.

The X1 being so damn cheap is REALLY crippling the Wii U. Plain and simple. It's only $100 more for a console that doubles the Wii U. Seriously when Microsoft announced the price cut I was tempted to buy... and I loathe Microsoft.

The ps3 is actually outselling the Wii and wii u combined. Npd will tell us In a week how good / bad it's really doing. So hold the pitchforks for now.

Nope. MK8 is outperforming.

MK8 is the more appealing game to gamers in Europe and Japan. In NA, Smash is. Smash is already like what, 200k under MK8 for the amount of games sold in NA? Whereas Europe and Japan sales are way higher with MK8 than Smash. So for NA, it was a system seller. Sadly, because of the 3DS release, it hurt sales a bit. It could have been a lot more.
