If this is indeed accurate, the behaviour of the Melee crowd, as described here, is despicable.

Gosh, this is embarrassing and outright terrible, as a big smash fan. I don't even know how to express how terrible and stupid this is. I hope this is not how the usual Melee scene is. I sort of wish Melee would die down. Melee is still an excellent, and fun game to watch, but come on, it's time to move on to the current things...

I can't tell you how much I hate this type of Melee players, otherwise I'd get banned .-.

Ban Diddy Kong. Then its all good. But then again I don't like Melee so its not like I really have a horse in this race.

Melee competitive players are like Genwunners to me.
I dont care if gamers enjoy a specific game in a series to any other, but to outright hate on everything about the newer games is just narrow minded and childish.

Being part of the competitive scene personally, yeah the attacking of other games is constantly happening. The entire time that the top 8 for Wii U was on at Apex, all I could see was constant complaining that Melee wasn't on. I enjoy Melee as well but the elitism from some people is just downright awful at times.  It almost made me drop Smash 4 at times just to avoid criticism and hate, something that I already receive about it, just for enjoying a different game.  I understand how it got upsetting how Melee didn't start on time due to difficulties but some of the hate, especially to Zero, really shouldn't be necessary in the community.  Preference is fine but all of the arguing and hate from both sides really isn't needed and really hurts the community as a whole.
