That's what I misunderstood. I didn't read it as a minus, but as a dash, so I added two values.

So, there is only about 40 minutes of cutscenes?

This is all so confusing, I admit... Guess I'll find out myself on Friday.

40minutes of cutscene only chapters. That value is excluding all of the cutscenes in chapters containing some gameplay

So it doesn't have all that much gameplay then it seems.

10-9 hours is fine for an old fashioned single player game. MGS4 is shorter, and it is fun too.

Take my post as proof.

So show me the link in this post by you. (waiting)

You wouldn't have to wait if you would put as much effort in reading what people actually post here as you do behaving in a bad way to people who don't agree with you.

I think it is 100% obvious that Sony Exclusives,as soon as new IP"s are announced, are viraly sabotaged to prevent them from becoming big,
but it never was as bad as it is with the Order-.
This game is critized for everything in a forensic style.

This time magazines are trying to keep you even from preordering this game
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-12-12-video-why-you-might-not-want-to-pre-order-the-order

Everything that can be criticized ,no matter how ridicoulous it is will be criticized,
the gameplay,
the length of the game
or that this shooter is played like a shooter
or that some QTE"s exists(did not knew that those are the antichrist now)
they(journalists) have even created new bullshit terms as "no next gen gameplay" though noone knows what "next-gen-gameplay" means. They cannnot even explain what they mean.

It seems some people are very concerned that Sony could get a Hype game in the last Core _Gaming-Genre where Sony is not really successfull-
The Shooter Genre.
I hope they won"t succeed.

Such things that are happening now(systematical bashing) haven"t existed before a certain company entered the gaming business and this systematical bashing is almost only happening in Anglo Saxon territories(you won"t find such strange ,stupid and one-sided biased"behaviour" and hate-arguments in german, french, japanese etc magazines)
and the only new Sony 1st party AAA IP that was not systematically bashed was LBP.
Why not LBP?
Well -LBP is a genre where the other company is not competing.

I never meant to buy this game because i don"t like shooters, though the art style is great( i love this "Jules Vernes Movies Style")
and the 2nd best since Sunset Overdrive,as this should be the future the Next Gen Power should be used to create new original looks and not just imitate reality.
Can you imagine an open world game looking like Street Fighter 4-great!)
But i am gonna buy this game just because some paid shills and haters criticize the shit out of it.

(Spoiler for 2016)
I can promise you that the new game of Quantic Dream will be criticized the same way,
just like the new IP of Media Molecule.
(remember where you read it first)

That is still longer than MGS4, and that was a great game.

That's a coincidence. Rapier on GAF said that The Order reminds him of MGS (not sure if he meant the game or the series) in terms of pacing, Killzone 2 in terms of gunplay, and Vanquish in terms of replayability.

Impressions from a gaffer:

Before I proceed I'd like to state that these views and opinions are expressly mine and mine alone, and by no means should they undermine the game's chances for success come the official release date.

Let me try to keep it simple. Games are interactive and audiovisual, so that's all I'll be giving thoughts on out of respect for RAD. So, here we go.

First off, the obvious. Visuals & Presentation:

The Order 1886 is has a very explicit goal. That is, to be an authentically cinematic experience, complete with richly detailed period "sets", "wardrobe", "props", expert cinematography, lighting, etc. The team at Ready At Dawn have succeeded in every respect in recreating all of these elements which ultimately come together in a way never before seen in a video game. No detail is left unrefined, everything has such an expert level of craftsmanship and polish that it quite simply sets a new standard for production values and artistic integrity. Needless to say, both the film industry and the games industry would do wise to look at The Order as the current shining example of what the medium can achieve.

Now for more sobering thoughts. Gameplay:

Every notion of what some of you may consider to be proper game design has to be suspended. The game will hold your hand. It will walk you through areas. It will funnel you. It will bombard you with simple context sensitive button prompts and loads of sharply directed and acted cutscenes. For many, this is the bane of "cinematic" games, and that's the divisive crux in The Order. But for all those criticisms which can fairly be leveled against it, The Order succeeds because the physicality and feedback of the gameplay sections (which are by no means scarce) are so well executed and consistent with the games overall quality, that not allowing it its quirks would be to completely miss the point. Personally, I think it harkens back to Metal Gear Solid in terms of pacing, to Killzone 2 for its gunplay theatricality, and to Vanquish, for its replayability. It is by no means a short game, either. It's pacing is dictated by the unskippable cutscenes and expository quasi-interactive sections.

Story:

NO. Do yourself a favor and experience it like it was meant to be.

-----

Concluding remarks:

The Order 1886 is for lovers of old fashioned single player experiences. For those who want to see strong efforts in storytelling-focused games make a comeback. It's a highly curated museum piece for old-timey, story driven videogames, and if you cherish having a collection of finely produced games, then that's the value of The Order in a nutshell. If you're excited for a strong new IP with endless possibilities and want to see RAD put out new iterations of this level of quality, then give them the nod. I already have.

Okay, admittedly I haven't played MGS4, but according to HLTB, its 18.5 hours long for a normal playthrough...explain yourself

Big Boss rank. Finish the game in 5 hours or less on hardest difficulty, without being seen or triggering alerts, no killing, and without using health meds. This goes for all MGS games.

...so you are essentially comparing speedruns for experts to casual first time playthroughs?
