So that's what people were thinking when the term Xbone became popular around E3 2013? No

Its a childish jab that trolls have conditioned themselves into using nonstop. Even after the numerous X1 policy changes that people wanted its still believed that MS is "boning" their customers.

Actually, it started the moment it was announced in May, before any policy were revealed (so, how could it be about "boning" their customers?). Because of this picture

Now, had the new Xbox been stylized/advertised as "Xbox 1", "XBOne" wouldn't have happened. It'd be "XB1" (which, still, isn't how you call it i.e. "X1". Xbox, as a brand, is has always been abbreviated "XB", not "X"). But, like I said, it's because of the way the product is presented. Take it up with the designers of the logo. It's not our fault MS subsequently revealed policies that, indeed, "boned" us, just coincidence. Not the origin of the abbreviation.

Or, you can start referring to the 360 as "the Three Sixty", if we're gonna start changing how the product is officially shown as.

Doesn't change the fact that it was called that out of malicious intent.

You say people are "salty" when they think "Xbone" is childish yet the whole situation that made it popular was childish itself.

Lol time out. First, the whole deal is "XBOne was a term made up by trolls who are being childish". Then I show you that it became the abbreviation because...that's how it looks.

Now, it's called that out of malicious intent (based on the policies), even though the origins are before the policies are revealed?

Why can't people just accept that it's called the "XBOne" because.....THAT'S WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE?! Ever think about that? Was it "offensive" when the "OX" was taken out of the XBOX 360 logo and it was shorthanded to "XB360". Because that's all that happened with the XBOne.

Some people call it just "Bone". That it a "troll" term. But don't get mad that it started innocently enough, then MS gave it a reason to be a "bad" name. Because the name started from the day it was announced. Until MS changes how they present the product, then even when they aren't "boning" you, it's still XBOX One --> XBOne. Nothing offensive about that.

I'll admit I used Xbone for teh lulz but it kind of stuck with me. Now I've embraced the bone

I've never seen anyone capitalizing that O in Xbone. You're trying to make it into some official ok thing. Its like you actually think people were being genuine last year when calling it that. Majority of people see it as a jab and they admit it. You won't for some reason.

I capitalize it. If not, it's just because I'm typing quickly and miss the shift key. Like when you see Ps4, sometimes. Anyway, I don't let terms get framed, in my book (like how from 2001-2009, the term "liberal" was framed to mean anti-American (because of their stance on the war overseas), even though I know that's not what "liberal" means). Just because some people are out to change the definition doesn't I'm gonna look at the origins and say "nope, doesn't count now".

You can if you want. To remain, as I put it....salty. I mean, why can't I put "One" after XB? Even MS does that in their logo. It'd be like you getting mad that I put "360" after XB, even though that's what the logo is. I call it "XBOne" because, that's it's name. That's how the name is stylized. That's how it's written. The fact that "Bone" is in there and MS subsequently tried some BS doesn't make it become:

Whatever makes you feel better about calling it that. I can't stop anyone from doing what they do. Just know that there's a reason why Xbone is widely considered as a derogatory term and people aren't being "salty" for no reason. No matter how you try to spin it.

Let's be real, most of the people calling it "Xbone" were haters when it was revealed. I thought it sounded more dumb than offensive personally but it was used to get under Xbox fan's skin, I don't think it really holds that connotation anymore though.

The term is "derogatory" by coincidence, not in origin or intent. I dunno why you won't accept that. It's not spin to say "it's called XBOne because that's what it's name looks like". It's spin to say that the name came up when the policies were revealed. It's untrue, so you moved to "it became popular" when the policies were revealed, because it didn't fit your narrative that it was a childish term made up to make fun of the Xbox's policies (even though the name stuck from the jump, because, again, that's what it looks like).

I usually go with Xbone, because it still amuses me and I don't believe in switching between upper and lower case in the middle of words just because of some stupid branding (as far as I'm concerned it's a Playstation, not a PlayStation). But if I feel like abbreviating it further, X1 or XB1 is my go to.
