Forums - Microsoft - The VGChartz Xbox One abbreviation consensus thread.

Xbox One abbreviated as:

Xbone 145 39.51%

X1 63 17.17%

XBO 54 14.71%

XO 6 1.63%

XB1 64 17.44%

Xone 14 3.81%

XBOne 20 5.45%

Je prefere X1. Its the fastest. Why waste time typing out the whole name?

I always write Xb one, and that's how it will stay.

“The fundamental cause of the trouble is that in the modern world the stupid are cocksure while the intelligent are full of doubt.” - Bertrand Russell

"When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace."

X1

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

I call it X1 because it's simple and makes sense to me. XB1 sounds okay too but makes me think of the original XB. Same story with XBO, okay but reminds me of the original.

Xbone I see have the most votes and I can't understand it. The word is so long that you can just write the full name, no need for abbreviation and especially not to misspell One with a lower case O. Makes no sense to me. And X-bone is what it sounds like. Kind of nasty word and sounds more like a mock word to me.

But each to their own and what not. :)

Honestly, in a video game forum who's actually gonna get Xbox One confused with Comcast's thing when someone types X1? Or OG Xbox when someone types XB1? Do people not know how to use context clues?

"Xbone: Seems to have stuck as the official abbreviation, but I don't like it because it's derogatory and offends people"

News to me.

still calling it though.

I always called it XB1

Well EA and Comcast struck a deal to work on streaming EA titles on the X1. It looks like Xbone is the most reconized abbreviation so far.  I guess I'll just have to adapt.

You would still be using context clues in that situation. And Xbone is still an obvious way to take a jab. It was made to demean the console by people who hated it. No idea how some people never knew that.

anything as long as it isn't "the One" I just cant shake the feeling of that being really pretentious and obnoxious.
