Forums - Sony - ( Rumor ) A User With an Early Copy of The Order: 1886 Has Seemingly Beaten The Game in under 10 Hours

So it has "cut scenes" you can't skip like Max Payne 3? Because that fucking blows if true.

Max Payne 3 cutscenes can be skipped. You just have to wait until the loading time has finished (because it's camouflaged during the cutscene itself), so you always have to partially watch the cutscene.

Yeah I know they are loading in the background. Always took for fucking ever before you could skip them too (PS3 version). Would have loved to platinum that game but could not stand all the cut scenes over and over.

I knew the game would be short but I hope its not this short. I have it preordered!

Why pre-order a game that's going to be every where when it comes out. The Order: 1886 doesn't even have a compelling online mode. This game will be half the price within a month or two of release. I would of waited for some reviews and a price drop if I were you.

Because I am a real gamer and thats what we do. The game looks great to me and I have been following since I first seen it. I just want the game to be a fun experience even if it only last 5 hours.

The initial rumour of length, perhaps. However the OP and the title have been updated to reflect this new information; which I'm still willing to believe (10 hours sounds about right. It's R&C length, and it's not too short/long either. I don't understand why this, out of everything, has attracted such attention in honesty).

All I know is I'm gonna buy the game, and I'm (hopefully) gonna love it. It could be 7 hours, 10, 15 or 25, that's not going to change so long as the story is coherent, there's lots of replayability and most importantly, it's fun.

I disagree. Here in Australia the cheapest possible price at launch will be in the order (SEE WHAT I DID THERE) of $US70...perhaps more.

Like it or not, length plays a role in value.

If its a fantastic 7 hours, I will rent it. If its an epic 7 hours I might eventually buy it for $10 down the line as well, for the collection.

Its hard to say where the line is. But Uncharted tends to go for around 10 hours. Then you have your Gears games around the same, but with co-op (and of course, multiplayer for those who want it). Bioshock games are upwards of 20.

And they all cost the same amount.

Some people want to support the developer, you know. They earn more when people preorder and get the game day one.

Why would the developer get any more money from someone preordering to someone who just picks it up that day or even later that week. They'd both pay the same price.

Yeah I don't believe they earn more for pre-orders. It would make no sense really.

I always thought pre-orders were a thing so that the retailers would have a general idea of how much product they need to order from their warehouse.

I don't know how it works, but there's a reason why developers put extra/unique content for the people who pre-order games. I got a Metal Gear Rising steelbox for preordering the game, but it costed me the same as people who'd go and get it Day One, except for the fact that they get no steelbox.

I'd assume that's more so that they can gauge the interest in their product than because they get more money. Besides, a lot of preorder bonuses seem to be exclusive to certain retailers these days so could also just be for retailers to try and outdo eachother and get all the sales.

Well, where I live GAME has the monopoly over gaming, so preorders can't be for that or they wouldn't bother at all

MGS4 took me around 5 1/2hrs to beat minus the cut-scenes and still enjoyed the game =)

Like half the comments in this thread are deleted or ugh.....snipped......

What kind of game gives you half of the game to play before getting your first trophy?

Something is off here.

I don't collect trophies, but I just went to check my TLOU trophies.

I only have 2 in the whole game, and those are to complete the game on easy and on normal (I played on normal the only time I played). That is all. I played for some 15-20 hours and no trophies until the end.
