Wondering if anyone at Neogaf has pointed out the 100% record of Amazon at predicting NPD's winner since December 2013.

Yes most of them did, usually in the NPD prediction threads.Specially because some people from here are there too like ethomaz.

Not sure when the month will update, but at present Evolve is not in the top 15 all formats titles for Feb, and no Evolve sku is in the top 60 for Feb. At the moment the PS4 sku is at 65 for the month.

Depending on how the month goes, and whether Amazon is a good predictor of NPD, it seems like Evolve may not get into the top 10 list for NPD for Feb.

If Evolve doesn't get both PS4 and Xb one skus into the top 15 all formats for the month when the full 9 Feb week is finished and updated then the risk of not getting into the top 10 increases sharply. I think not making it into the top 10 for NPD will be widely seen as flopping in the USA. Not making it into the top 5 would probably be seen as not flopping, but still seen as underperforming. At this stage I think MM and MH4 will be top 5, and I hope The Order makes it into the top 10 despite only being out for 8 days.

Does Amazon make NPD rather obsolete and redundant, at least for hardware? If businesses and hardware makers want to read and analyse the hardware market in the USA are they better off monitoring Amazon's weekly and monthly  best seller lists than waiting for and paying for NPD data?

Not necessarily 'cause Amazon doesn't give us numbers and we don't know how much 10 position gap represents in numbers.

Plus nobody created an algoritm to extrapolate numbers based on amazon's best sellers yet. (I think ioi should start using amazon best seller as a factor in his algoritm.)

We don't have that information, but most businesses that would pay for NPD data has enough information available free of charge to make a reasonable estimation. Indeed who actually needs NPD's information for any actual business purpose?

NPD tomorrow. We don't have the full VGC numbers for the month yet, so hopefully we will get those before official numbers are released. VGC has PS4 and X1 at a virtual tie, Amazon is more clear cut. Will be interesting to see if Amazon keeps its accurate run going.

That Evolve drop. #29 and #38

I saw this on /v/:

not a good sign right? i mean,i know that on pc people usually don't buy games for $60(specially a dlc fest like this) but isn't this low even for PC standards?

Plus any console version of the game crossed top 10 hourly on amazon yet....

Was also a bit unfair to post this when the game was not officially released yet =p.    (also people in UK/Eu had issues to unlock the game at midnight).

Stats show now that the game has now 10K people online with a peak of 27K.    People spend around +500k hours in the game....  If we take that the average player played it for 5-10 hours I think we can expect sales between 50-100K.   To early to call it a flop.
