You are missing the most important question! Treehouse was amazing. Digital Event and Conference are six of one, half a dozen of the other.

What about the Smash Bros tournament? I want some kind of awesome event like that to take its place but I don't know what they would do. It would feel kind of redundant to do Smash again after last year, Apex, and Evo. And yet I don't think there's anything comparable in terms of hype.

Digital Event 2.0 + Treehouse 2.0 AT LEAST as megaton hype and amazing as last year, if not, me dissapoint!

I'd like:
-Kid Icarus for Wii U (as always :|)
- Metroid 3DS & Wii U
- THREE Zelda Wii U trailers. 1 at very start...........1 at middle.......and 1 at the very end. Just to keep the hype going even more. Make sure 2 are Story-Focused and epic, while other is gameplay & shows off the world epic (ala xenoblade chronicles new 3ds reveal trailer with zooming out ect.)
- new Fire Emblem
- Starfox & SMT x FE.

Those are the things I want in terms of content.

Digital event, but more interactive a la Oprah (everyone at E3 look under their chairs.... FREE WII U'S!) and more exciting, in the now things that'll still excite a crowd watching.

The treehouse idea is really cool too, and hopefully they keep doing demos for the public. I had a lot of fun with the Smash demo at Best Buy last year.

I want the boring live conference back please.

Last year Nintendo dominated my E3 experience so i want them to do the same.

Why would you want the live conferences when even you say they are boring?

Digital, save a true return to E3 for their next home console reveal. From that point on they should do all 3. 1hour long press conference for major release and collaborations, sony and MS's conferences are both overstretched. Especially Sony! A pre E3 Digital event for lessor console game announcements and strong  focus on their handheld offering. Nintendo Tree house afterwards for all of the deets, length game demonstrations etc.  

So if we were using this year as an example

Pre-E3 digital event: Full release scedule for the 3DS this coming holiday, announcements and trailers. New gameplay details for already known Wii U games such as Mario Maker, Yoshi, future DLC, continued Amiibo support.

1hour long conference: Zelda gameplay trailer+release date, Star Fox live stage multiplayer demo + release date, X wester release, Pokken Trailer+release date, FIre Emblem reval, next years Q1/Q2 titles announcemennt, 3rd party collab trailers, New Ips (project Robot or whatever its called), 3rd party collaboration reveals.

Nintendo Tree House:

20min Zelda Walkthrough
Star Fox Single player demonstratio
Pokken Tournatment 
etc

A part of me kind of would like a traditional conference...just because Zelda.

But beyond that, I'm completely fine with the more focused, organized Digital Events. And the Treehouse is an absolutely brilliant thing that should be a mainstay from now on. It's almost like being at E3 now since we get long, detailed looks at the show floor demos. And last year they even announced some things and showed gameplay for games that weren't on the show floor, like Xenoblade Chronicles X. Last year's E3 trailer for that game was a bit meh, but the Treehouse footage really made up for it.

No conference, they have nothing to show. The digital event is enough, and it is nice to watch it also.

I want the digital event again. It had so much personality and flair to it last year! Plus it was fast paced with no filler or boring segments. I only wish for it to be longer this year.
