Yeah, I remember I was the only one out of my friends that bought a PS3 the first year (it was crazy expensive), but this time everyone who's a console gamer that I know already has a PS4. It launched at a reasonable price. It is completely decimating other consoles. Playstation was always very strong here, but last gen the Wii sold very very well and the 360 sold decently too mainly due to piracy then due to Call of Duty DLC coming out first on Xbox (CoD was gigantic here, it's still big but not as big).
I don't know why people here still thinks we don't play video games in the middle east. The UAE and KSA are the biggest market here. We even have gaming conventions for God's sake!!! Not to mention IGN has a middle east office in here and the UAE, especially the city of dubai, is the distributor of video games and consoles in the region, they are one behind the demanding of arabic support for the past few years. I guess I'll make a long topic in the forums to show how big the community in here.

It's not as if they would have wanted an Xbox. Thanks to sterotypes, Xbox is apparently full of shooters. And shooters usually have Middle Eastern people as villians. I'm not saying any of those are true.

Still a great deal of ignorance that often stems from portrayal in media either in news or film form. I am glad we have the internet to give us direct contact from people from there.

I know what you mean. They think the whole middle east is about arab spring, ISIS and al-qaaeda. And we still live in tents and have camels to ride for transportation :P

funny when you consider that the only two shooters that are exclusive to the xbox has nothing to do with middle Eastern. I don't thinkyhe whole stereotype thing applies here. Outside NA, Sony is just a much more respected brand. They probably look at the Xbox as a pencil, and the PS4 as a Mont Blanc pen.

Haha... I know the feeling. I can't even begin to express how sad it is when I tell people I'm from Africa and the first thing they say is something along the lines of "oh my god so you must have seen a lot of lions"
Can't bring myself to tell them that the only time I have seen lions, monkeys, elephants or anything typically associated with Africa was at a zoo in the states when I first went there as a child.
Its not that big of a market then. The Middle East is dominated by Sony, and the Sony brand is still quite strong there. I think Xbox One isn't doing too badly either.

Ok. What's a Mont Blanc?
