Forums - Nintendo - Atlus, Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem please.

I've mixed feelings about this one, while I'd love to have a Fire Emblem and/or a Shin Megami Tensei for Wii U, I'm not too fond of crossovers because most of the times they end up being worse than the games they mix. Regardless of that, I'll support the game if it still exists, Wii U needs more RPGs, that's for sure.

the best atlus game in the future: Persona 5! But why people will SMTXFE for wii u ? to high-risk, money loss. if then for handheld, would be better.

For Nintendo development would hardly make sense because the hardware is not rising significantly more in the future. next software flopp maybe confirmed then, i think. (Sega does certainly hurt to have 3 flopps on wii u. AND the "project zero" maker is also intended sad. So one should prefer to bring out for handheld!) it cancelled maybe.

PS: i drank too much today: P'll explain later in detail why I am of the opinion that one should not throw money production to the game.

This still makes no sense. SEGA's games sucked (with the exception of Sonic Lost World, which was pretty good but a lot of things about it were handled and recieved poorly).

I think the real reason you don't want this game to be made is because it's Nintendo exclusive and you don't want it taking production time/funding away from one of their other products that will be available on PlayStation platforms. Even though that's not rational at all considering it's not just Atlus working on this game, it's also Intelligent Systems, so the development is essentially cut in half between them. This game, in theory, should sell more than a typical Atlus game because it's combining two franchises that have a bit of a cult following (one, being Fire Emblem, has seen an accumulation of popularity recently). COD-level sales have clearly never been Atlus' nor Intelligent Systems' main priority, so it's irrational to think they would be so deathly concerned about it now.

I think these to franchises have a lot of synergy, though. I think it will be something special.

What? So you hope this game is cancelled? Why?

And next software flop in terms of sales? Right, because every game Atlus has made has sold extremely well. Especially the Persona games.

This, omg this. seriously, if you were in the greatest vgchartz user contest I would back you over anyone else cause this! Logic!

Lol, just trying to get a grasp on why someone would want this cancelled. I've never wanted a game to be cancelled before, especially not a game from a developer that I love.

I'm going to guess that if it's still in development it'll be 2016, with Star Fox, Zelda and XCX out this year I think it'll be scheduled for 2016 to not be upstaged on the platform. The lack of media is obviously due to it being early in development when announced and probably because of HD being new to both studios.

I truly hope so, both franchises have delivered great games and I do think they could benefit from each other. Provided that the story's sole purpose isn't to try and justify the mix, it certainly does have potential.

The story might be a lot like Persona Q. Only not Persona in tone.

If I don't hear anything by E3 the game is probably dead in the water ...

It's unacceptable as it is to announce a new project without a deadline and it's also unacceptable for a project to not meet the several previous deadlines ...

I've yet to play Persona Q, but heard it wasn't half bad, not as good as Persona 3 or 4 but definitely not crap either. We'll have to wait for news of this game, hopefully Nintendo will throw as a bone at E3.

I still think it's in development but was annouced waaaaaaay too early. They probably just finalised the contract with Atlus and then announced it the following week.
