Ferrum refers to iron, usually swords.

Maybe Ferrum is an industrial or smithing region? I dunno. There's nothing "iron" about the actual quality of the battles, no swords or anything like that, so it can't be a descriptive term.

Yeah, I think it's the region's name.
Reminds me of Soul blade, I loved that game.

No doubt this is getting a console version. The Wii U is gonna have a really good fighting library in the end.

Official Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Thread

The volcanic area is called Phos Volcano.

"An area located in a cave inside a giant volcano. In addition to the deposits of rare ores, it also contains the ruins of an ancient civilization."

Again, "Ferrum Battle Live Broadcasting" reads along the bottom. All of this was in english on the stream. I'm guessing it's a new region akin to Orre, Fiore and Almia.

That mystery game appearing at APEX? Definitely Pokkén. Location tests are going on in Japan for Pokken on January 30th, 31st and February 1st. Those are the exact same dates as Apex. It's pretty much confirmed now.

They are also revealing another character, that got a lot of votes on twitter, soon. What I hope is that they confirm a Wii U version at Apex, but that's wishing for a little too much.

Also, let's talk about how this game looks 1000x better graphically than it did in the reveal trailer. They fucking stepped up, BIG time!

  • That gamepad for the arcade cab is not final. It ill change design down the line.
  • The menu screen showed options for local player vs player as well as online player vs player battles across different arcades.
  • On the Pokemon select screen, Pokemon are graded in 3 different aspect of the game. 1st is Resonance Burst mode(共鳴エネルギー) which is like the Pokemon's own 'Ultra' (Ultimate Jutsu) attack, then field phase offense (3D Mode) and lastly duel phase offense (2D Mode).
  • You can select support Pokemon to assist your main fighter Pokemon. Support Pokemon have their own gauge to manage.
  • When you start off the match, the Pokemon will be in 'field phase' mode. Camera is lifted further back and Pokemon are more mobile to move around the field. This gameplay was described as '3D field action.'
  • Once the 2 Pokemon get close, the Pokemon will be in 'duel phase' mode and the camera will zoom into the Pokemon and lean onto the side. Like a 'normal' fighting game camera. This part of the game will emphasis the normal fundamentals you usually see in regular fighting games.
  • Attacks beats throws, throws beats guarding, guarding beats attacks.
  • Guarding an opponent attacks over and over will degrade your shield. (think of it like the Super Smash Bros shield.)
  • Your Pokemon gets access to one big 'burst' attack once they're in that Resonance. You only get to use it once so I guess it's akin to an Ultra.

  • Just saw the whole stream, shit looks amazing, i understand people who want a 2D fighter but honestly i never thought it would be one, i was exepcting something else and it didn't dissapoint, game that NSUNS and DBBT series feel and i love those, if Wii get confirmation i might not wait for a price drop after all, want to see MOAR characters tho, and MORE and MORE all of the Pokemaaanz!

Never thought I'd say this about this game, but it actually looks fun. Shame the arenas are so tiny, they should have made them just a little bigger like the Naruto and DBZ games.

The thing is, there's a 2D mode already in the combat. It's programmed in the game already. If they could just make that an optional separate mode, I'm sure there will be no complaints. It does look amazing, regardless. We NEED a huge roster though.

They don't look smaller than the Naruto games at all. It's just the visual barriers playing tricks on you. I can't say the same for DBZ games, as I don't play them.
