Awesome great game although I like the campaign more than online, I will probably buy after The Orange Box.

How is that unfair?  It's not like I titled it "best selling exclusive shooter ever" and it's not like people are going out and buying copies for all their consoles.  The fact that the developers were farsighted enough to get their game out to as man players as possible is hardly a negative mark on their success.  To the contrary, it's all the more reason they deserve the success they've gotten.

Hmm I thought Half life ONE sold between 8 and 10 million but that is maybe to retailers.

The only thing "unfair" about it would be the comparative sales bases.  But that's true of any comparison of games on different consoles, and even (arguably) of games sold on the same console at times that it had very different install bases.

Do VGC numbers account for Steam?  (Or would that not even greatly impact HL1's numbers?)

No, that's a good point.  It's probably sold another million or so on Steam in the time Steam has been out, but it's rarely in the top 10, so I doubt there is any concern about CoD4 passing it.

I just played this over the weekend with friends. I usually hate FPS, because I hated using the xbox controller, and all they wanted to play was Halo/Halo2. I must say, this game was the most fun I had on a PS3 console (other than Rock Band, which I also got to play). I loved crawling in this game. I hid in the grass and my friend ran right into me, and I got him in the head. Hopefully Activision will stop Treyarch from making any future games, and just let Inifinity Ward make them every ~2 years.
