Forums - Nintendo - Will Activision try again with COD Wii U this year?

Potentially they could, i see no point not to bring it to Wii U if its still on PS3/360, but I can also see why they wouldnt.

Really dont think porting it to the Wii U would cost so much though.

I know Wii U third party support is very thin, but i was very surprised Advance warfare skipped the Wii U last year. The Wii U install base should be around 10-11 million (hopefully more) by the time the next iteration is due. Do you think Activision will see that as a big enough install base to have another crack at COD Wii U?

BOPS2 sold 280k on Wii U. Was it really a surprise? It would be better to do a new Vita entry and sell 1M. It's a high profile franchise, they won't pay attention if you won't give 2 or 3M.

As others have said, it's not just about the install base, it's the Wii U demographic. People buy Wii U's to play Mario Kart, Zelda, and those unique and charming games like Pikmin and the upcoming Splatoon. Not a hardcore FPS "shoot 'em up."

Well we saw in that past that support can be based on the developer (black ops series being on wii but warfare not).

I don't think install base has anything to do with the last game skipping wii u. If Wii U never see's another COD game its to do with Activision assuming the right audience is not on the Wii U and I'd say they'd be right. Especially come fall 2015 I think anyone who really wants to play COD will do so on X1/PS4/PC. I can't see the Wii U version doing more then a few 100k.

To be honest I don't know why  Activision doesn't port to Vita. If Declassified can top 1m whilst being one of the worst games ever made, there is obviously an easy market for a solid port.

If COW BO2 can outsell Classified on Vita, im sure Activision would bite

No 3rd party games on WIi U has touched Declassified numbers, I doubt that will change

I don't see any reason to, sadly.
