Anybody know how things things work? Is it possible for steam to be brought to the PS4 or Xbox One?
If it is do you think the PS5 or Xbox Two will have it? Valve would make more money but would MS or SOny gain from this?

Ps3 already has steam functionality! I've heard it is going to be huge
You mean, so they would lose their royalties and give Valve free money? They would be better if they simply sent trucks loaded with cash for Gabe Newell's house for free.
I mean, what would they gain with that? They would just share money with Valve for nothing (because they already have digital sales) and lose control over the games on their own platform. It doesn't make sense in the slight form.
And if you mean because of Steam prices, that's just because they use always online DRM, so the games can be sold cheaper because they aren't really a full license of the games. If MS had gone with their plan on X1, that's what we would have down the road: cheaper games that nobody really owns.
That would be a horrible idea. Of course it could be done though it wouldn't be financially good for Xbox or PlayStation.
It certainty could but MS and Sony would be cray cray to do so cause atm, all digital purchases on the respective platform goes through them and allowing competition on their platform is a bad business decisions

i guess it would mean steam could set up a store to sell pc games not already on consoles. sony and ms would still get a cut.
but this has me thinking why don't MS and Sony get most pc games to port them to their consoles...
Why would Sony and MS allow anyone else to make money on their systems ?
The whole point of making dedicated gaming hardware for them is to have monopoly on the software sales.

Why would Sony and MS let their total control over digital sales go away? The only one winning something would be Valve (and consumers, because competition). Unless sales go up 10000% and Sony/MS get half of the profits, I don't see it.
i could see the xbtwo beeing a steam pc if the xbone dont catch up soon.
