They perfected the 3D tech in the 3DS and there are a million uses for the gamepad so I don't see why they would just drop them.

| Xenostar said: Well they've just made the 3D workable with the new eye tracking so i think they will carry on with that, they will drop the pad next console cycle as its been an expensive failure. It has brought little to nothing even from Nintendos titles and has driven the cost of the console up far too high. |
Gamepad > useless 3D gimmick.
I swear, turning the 3D on barely changes anything. Ditching it and going for a much more powerful handheld would get you much better results.
I think no to both. Lets be real the 3d feature and gamepad hasnt done squat for their respective systems so i dont see Ninty messing with either anymore. Im still not convinced that the New 3ds will blow the lid off either and IMHO at this point even if it was way better the majority audience wouldnt care. 3D isnt really a big selling point, not enough to really make a difference.
Hell they didnt even really follow up with the wiimote and that was actually successful, what do people expect them to do wiht there much less successful things?
Drop the gamepad (or change it radically) and keep 3D as optional. Rather than releasing a 2DS later just make a standard and a 3d version from the beginning.
I actually like to play with the 3D on.
I hope they keep both of them, maybe the HH can be used as Pad.

I want them to drop both and just make a console with no gimmicks and up to date hardware for the first time in 14 years

14 years includes gamecube which was > ps2 by a long shot. I don;t kwnow hy you guys consider them gimmicks and want them to do what the others do. I'm sorry but 3 consoles that play exactly the same are a waste of time. Yes they could use the power but keep the pad and keep the 3d. What's the point of improving on 3d just to drop it 2 years later? Its going to be backwards compatible which means 3d will stay same with the pad. Tell me this. What advantage does dropping the pad and 3d give? and if you say hardware boost I'll just point out that gamecube didn't get much support either even though it had power.
