Funny that this is in Nintendo discussion.

Aw shit. It's become reflex at this point. XD

Mods, can we move this to gaming general?

Oh, I thought it was deliberate, because surely Nintendo IS everyone's favourite console maker.

Nah, it's just that whenever I made Nintendo threads I used to forget to change the destination to the Nintendo section and put it in gaming general instead, so now I do it on impulse, since the majority of threads I create are Nintendo-focussed.

Sony,

Straighten up your OS. It's ridiculous the choppiness and clutter that is present in the current PS4 OS. Not to mention certain promised missing features that they're not bringing back.

Maybe a nice, well thought out redesign is in order and with the CPU/GPU's being more 'PC' like, I don't think the Xbox One or PS4 should get a pass for things like this, or developers that make games for those systems too.

-----------------

Actually, since I game more on PC than I do console, I figure I'll poke the stick at Microsoft too.

Get this Windows thing sorted out. I've settled into a nice hybrid of Windows 8 Start Screen and a start menu replacement. However, not a fan of the operating system becoming more like a mobile operating system with user accounts and including things like apps, ads and such. That's not bad for my phone/tablet, but I do not want that for my main computer. Also, continue to improve performance of the system and do a better job with GPU makers and developers so that they can get better graphical bang out of their games. I guess you'd call that a DX12 thing?

Also, don't pull GFWL like that again.

For real. Like Fatal Frame, it's good for Nintendo that they have an IP like that. It diversifies their library more, but outside of Japan it's so sad to see they haven't done anything with it. Especially with all the fan outcry for localizations.

This. They don't seem to realize that they need it more for image than for sales.

They could easily make Fatal Frame an iconic franchise for them and have people think of Nintendo when they see it. It would help so much with how the public views them, and it could be their key horror franchise. I still think they'll localize FFV eventually, but I wish they would be more open about it. Region locking just needs to stop in general.

Nintendo.

They built an adapter that can use their oem controllers but won't release their games on the eshop. They could easily build a N64 adapter and sell N64 games and controllers and fans would love it. Same with Gamecube. Mind you I do like the classic controller/pro controller but there is just no replacement for having the real deal in your hands.

Sony: I got a list, and I don't know which should be #1.
* Why, just why won't they buy ol' Crash back from Activision?
* Piss-poor handling of the Vita in absolutely every respect.
* Relying on a PS3-centric PS Now rather than a) selling classics for PS4, b) selling emulators for PS1 / PS2 for PS4.
* Basic stuff is taking forever to be implemented on PS4. Why are avatars still not on the PS4 store...?
* Why not mass produce the 20th anniversary controllers?

Perhaps the PS Now / lack of access to classics thing might be the most egregious error Sony's making this gen, especially since the legacy of the brand is one of the selling points they lean on. But I really want one of those damn controllers...

Thread moved to Gaming Discussion.

Biggest issue with Sony is that they need a better way of synching controllers. Also they need to release TLG and some more of their Japanese games, while they're at it.

I thought Nintendo was your fav console maker.

Sony needs to improve their online infastructure IMO. Less downtime pls.

The thing I dislike the most about Nintendo is that they really need to put much more effort into their VC. The selection isn't as good as I would like, and a shared account system would make the deal sweeter. The price could see a 25% discount as well, or at least do regular sales on VC titles.

I would need to spend more time with Sony stuff to say anything about them, but one thing about Sony I wished was better in the PS2 era would have been more controller slots. Multitap was a disaster.

I can't stand how slow Sony is with getting games released and how they have not brought back certain franchises recently.

Nintendo: Still no release of the Wii U in either HK nor any plans for Mainland China, not even any rumours. It's like having a crush on someone that doesn't even know you exist kind of feeling. :(

And speaking of Wii U, no built in HDD is a choice that I think is horrible. I would have wished for an internal 250-500GB HDD in my Wii U, and instead I have to use a freaking USB 2.0 external... I still can't accept this after two years.

I would also have wished for a controller more like the GC as the official controller. I don't fancy the Wii-motes and Wii U-pads and things they make, I really miss the GC.

The hardware is weaker than I wish for it to be, I want Nintendo to make more powerful consoles so that I can both enjoy games with good gameplay and nice graphics.

Third party support is lacking, people mention it every day. Should I blame Nintendo for it? Perhaps. But if EA and the rest really wished to release their games for Wii U they are free to do so.

I dont like sonys direction to pay to play online and no backwards combility for ps2 and ps1 games on ps4. Also i hated how tihey made ps3 region free but not for ps1 games which doesnt make any sense.
