How do achievements influence gameplay for you?

They're a major selling point for me! 239 49.90%

I'll try to get lots of ... 56 11.69%

They're mostly good for ... 54 11.27%

I just ignore them for the most part. 89 18.58%

I wish games didn't have them. 40 8.35%

If achievements are related to difficult feats in games, like downing a certain boss or completing a game 100%, then I care about them only because I care about completing the game. If it's dumb stuff like "jump 30 times without moving" or "kill 10000 of some enemy" then it's not worth it. One kind of achievement shows friends how much progress you make or how good you are at a game; the other kind of achievement just exists to waste your time.

I dont care either, when ive fully completed a game i set my own personal goals and achievements, if i want more replay value out of a game. Mostly though, i finish a game and move on to the next one.

I don't care about trophies in general, but platiniums are cool.
I won't strive to get all the trophies to find out that one of them are insanely hard and/or boring to get.
It's either I don't care or give me that platinium.

If I really like a game I usually look at the trophy list and decide if I want to go for the platinum or not.
That happens maybe about one game in fifteen for me.
The best kind of trophies are those that make you play the game in totally different ways, like dont kill anyone

They are very important

I like them, but i'm also not going to kill myself trying to get a platinum for every game. If i'm close after just playing and enjoying the game, i'll do another playthrough and get the few that i've missed for the plat. No matter how easy or hard a game is, if i'm not atleast slightly enjoying myself, i quit playing the game.

stupid little ego pushs for people. i want the old times back where you got something cool for completing a game...

On Nintendo consoles (only ones I have) any achivements are always in-game. But I guess it would be good to have an app and see all of them at once. - but please, don't do stupid ones Ninty.

I'm a completionist so I always try to do achievements / challenges.............but I don't care much about them.
