Forums - Gaming Discussion - Driveclub sold only 84k in the US.

Driving games more popular in Europe + Not including in bundles = NPD result of only 84k.

It was the best selling exclusive of the year in the UK, beating out MK8, Smash bros, Last Of Us, Infamous, MC Collection and Sunset Overdrive. So yes, the bundles made a massive difference.

But Driveclub was originally promised as a free game for PSN Plus users. At the time I was surprised it was selling in retailers at all. But now I'm surprised it didn't have better legs considering we never had the free version and there's no word on when we will.

Exactly. A lot of people were on the wait and see for the PS+ version. With its delay, they really killed any chance of success.

So what does Europe liking driving games have to do with this?

Meaning that driving games ultimately don't do great in USA. Because their preferred market is elsewhere?

It's the same reason why a game like Battlefield won't do as well in Japan, as the FPS genre performs better in the USA as Japan doesn't have a huge taste for it. FIFA = Europe + South America. Madden + MLB = USA. I thought we knew this..

Regardless including bundlles Driveclub sold very well in the US.

Is it cheaper than other AAA games like in UK?

No why bring Europe in the NPD equation? You could just put "driving games not popular in the US" then, you make it sound like Europe is a part of the US.

Yeah, theres been sales on the game in one form or another pretty much any time since it launched it seems.

Another case of premature ejaculation by the publisher. The game should have been completed first before release.

Glad gamers spoke with their wallets. Hopefully publishers realise we want completed games. I should not have to download something like weather addon that should be on the disc.

Are you really arguing semantics? No, my wording does not make it sound like Europe is a part of the US.

Driving games are not popular in the US is the same as saying Driving games are more popular outside of the US with an example, in this case, Europe.

I fail to see what about that would make a geographically ignorant person think Europe is apart of the US?

edit: Almost the same as saying*
