Last summer I did an VGChartz 7th gen ratio poll, but I didn't get many votes. Maybe at the "start" of the gen things will be more active.
Keep it retail only, you can do your digital collection as a bonus. If you also bought digital retail titles you can add your equivalent downloadable retail games in your ratio. Note that first and third party are categorized by publisher, when in doubt check the worldwide publisher or who funded the game.
Here's an example of voting:

First state your percentage clearly so the post votes can be easily counted... and that's it really.

RESULTS UPDATE (25/01/2015)
From the Xbox One VGChartz sample more than 10% of those who voted in the poll also made a post vote (see a comparison chart below). The poll votes are bimodal (double-peaked) at both 0-20 and 50-100. Post votes show an average of 40%.
