They are, did you check the title tho? WW is irrelevent to the discussion.

I'll give you WiiU outsold XB1 in the US for MK week (I was talking monthly) and a week or so after, beyond that tho, never. And MK is to WiiU what Halo (5) is to XB1. It's not a small game, and it came during a big lul for XB1. We have little data for Europe so agree to disagree.

What has the rest of your post got to do with anything? It has taken marketshare from PS4 this holiday, without the cuts it would have lost in the US by hundreds of thousands and the gap would be 1.5m now instead of 500k.

You're deflecting from the actual topic.

for the rest of june AND july they were almost at parity, within 10k of one another, with the gap sometimes being as little as 1k.

anyway, point is wii u can sell with the proper software, even at an unfriendly price. at $249/€229 it'll destroy xbone in germany, france, etc. and do respectably in the us, as well as extend its 1m+ lead over the ps4 in japan.

You're still talking globally, I was talking US. I already explained the above situation anyway, WiiU got its biggest ever exclusive in the summer, whilst XB1 had jack shit at a high price (that has now been rectified).

France is definitely pro WiiU, Germany I don't know, but globally and US are so far in XB1's favour now despite what happens.

Well tbh I was expecting the WiiU to do more after all the hype Smash had.

I still think they should market it more.

Screw that, I'd rather they just put marketing money towards putting more games on it.

Then like everyone else you forgot the existence of the 3DS version!

OT: Nintendo not trying is probably because they finally resigned themselves in terms of sales and market share, so they're just gonna focus on maximizing profits.

Nintendo will reach its forecast for the Wii U, it's a done deal, they will do it with good software sales for Smash and MK8 and good amiibos sales as well.

It almost sure they will get a profit and that's what Nintendo is after now.

It give hope for a growth next year with a chance of price cut.

If i remember correctly Gamecube did 1.16 million in December 2003 in the U.S. So that's almost double what Wii-U did. We will have to wait for shipment data to get a good view on WW.

Aaaaaand this turned to Xbox vs Wii U AGAIN

Blinded people are blinded.

I'm glad Wii U did better than last year! Almost at 9 million, not as dead as people want it to be...

Not too shabby. And I think the Wii U will be up YoY again in 2015 due to high profile titles, more support titles to stabilize the baseline, an inevitable price cut (I think probably in March), and a vastly improved general image going into the year.

Yeah but wasnt gamecube like 99 dollars or something? if wii u can get to 10m at current price imagine what it can do at its lowest price point. Once its has its 4 bighitters (smash, zelda u,mk and 3d world) It hopefully should seem more worth it at a cheaper price

I really would love to see what a price cut could do for Wii U now. I feel the system finally gained some momentum in 2014 and got some people interested, but a lot still don't want to accept that price. But then again, Nintendo seems to be getting by with selling less systems at the higher price so maybe they won't mess with it.
