Wasn't there like a 300 plus thread on this or did that get locked?

OT: They should include it, maybe if people voice their opinion on it they'll change. Not much else to do honestly. Voice your say, call them out on it, and then call it a day. At the end of the day, it's a pretty shitty practice for something that can't cost that much to manufacture.

While I really do hate the fact that doesn't come with the charger, I also don't think its as big of a deal as some people claim to be. And the reason is that it says that it doesn't come with one in the store page and on the box.

Its almost the samething as the Vita not coming with a memory card during launch. Without a memory card, you can't really do anything like play games cause you need one in order to save games so the Vita was essentially a brick until you got one

So overall, I don't think it but its not thatttt big of a deal imo cause it does inform the consumer beforehand

some titles could play without the memory card. just saying

Yea cause that is totally worth spending $250 to play a small number of games that can play without the memory card... Which games are those anyway? And how many?

The charger, or the lack of a charger to be more accurate.

Now lets make this more constuctive.

If you don't have a previous 3DS console (because they're compatible with the 3DS XL power supply), then you're out of luck because you'll have to buy one on your own. Maybe it is not that big of a deal because looking at amazon and gamestop you can buy one for less than 10 bucks. Wait, less than 10 bucks? I'm pretty sure it cost Nintendo 10 cents to manufacture and to include it in the box.

I don't care if a lot of people own a 3DS, if you buy a console it should have everything that will make it functional, because if you don't have a power supply you can't charge the new 3DS and then it can't run. Imagine Sony selling their PS4/Vita without the power cord, or Microsoft without the XBone power brick, and then saying you got to purchase it separately. This ain't like the Gameboy when you only need AA batteries folks.

Look, when you buy a system brand new, it should have what it needs to run. Boom!

Discuss.

Well since I already have a 3DS i have no problem with them not providing a power supply. Especially when you can buy one for a dollar on ebay. (be it 3DS to USB charger or a normal one)

But for people that dont have one I know its extremely stupid.  I mean not everyone that buys consoles can read and then they will be like "what? No power supply I will return it". Even people that can read and see it has no power supply dont go to ebay and check for cheap ones they just buy ones that cost 10 bucks and are angry about it.

For me its not as bad but almost as bad as the Vita having cartridges but still requiring a memory card 30 years after game cartridges had the ability to save your progress. And exactly because of the extra 30 bucks or so I had to pay for a memory card I never got a Vita (until I fould one preowned including a memory card).

I agree that everything that is needed to use a system should be part of that system.  If they dont want to add a normal power supply because it costs to much money then at least add a 1 cent 3DS to USB cable like this.

This one is like 10x cheaper to make because it has no circuitry or whatever because the WiiU/PS4/XBO/PC or whatever you connect it to has the important parts. This cable here is just copper metal and rubber.
(You know like in old consoles a crappy composite cable was included  you can use it but if the bundled thing is not good enough for you you can still upgrade)

Well, can you save your progress of the game without a memory card? Cause from what I heard, you cant? Which of course, will make purchasing any games pointless if you can't save ur progress

It's certainly possible to save files on the game cartridge, but it depends on the developer. No Sony game uses that feature, but my copy of FIFA Soccer (the very first one from 2012) does support it.

I don't see why they wouldn't include it and it seems like a pretty crappy practice since it makes you pay extra unless you already own a DSi or 3DS. I hope that they change their decision or include them with more shipments since I know a lot of people who are upset about this.

Well, if no Sony games use that feature, I am pretty sure that its safe the assume that the vast majority won't use that feature as well... So imo, it still makes quite a bad practice for not including at least a 1gb memory card with the console just so people can save the game.

And of course, the memory cards are expensive as hell compared to microsd cards so yea. Imo, that is far worse than what Nintendo is doing with the n3dsXL even though that is also pretty bad and their excuse is laughable
