Forums - Nintendo - Wii U has me excited this year!

Interesting. Because this Direct was actually a big mood-killer, if you look at first half of 2015:
There's Splatoon... ... ... and Mario Party... ... ... and Kirby (only in the US, not EU). So that's 2-3 games in 6 months, when we could have hoped for Yoshi, Mario Maker, Xenoblade X, maybe Starfox. I'm not even touching SMTxFE (we've known about for 2 years) or completely new announcements. Factor in the Wii DL re-releases, which we are getting instead of sequels or at least GC remakes (Mario Sunshine, for example).

Personally yesterday was the first time I was getting worried about the Wii U. If it takes Nintendo this long to bring any of their games to market (more than a year for anything they announce, 2-3 years for AAA titles like Xeno X, SMTxFE, Zelda U), what can we really expect for the rest of Wii U's life cycle? We all agree that Wii U won't have more than 5 years. We're in the 3rd year now. Do the math...

I'm sceptic and, frankly, frustrated. I like having some games to look forward to. But now, up to June, there's Splatoon, and that's it.

I totally understand where you're coming from. The Wii U line-up overall looks great but the first half is kind of lacking unless they plan a Wii U focused direct later. I'm fine with just Splatoon because I just got my Wii U (again) a little bit ago. I have different games from 2014 I can play until then.

As long as Nintendo supports the Wii U in 2016 I'll be happy. I am a supporter of the 5 year lifecycle and want a new Nintendo console in 2017 anyway.

They did good. I'm looking forward to the Toad amiibo so I can unlock the stuff in captain Toad and hopefully a Toad setup for Miis in MK8. Hopefully they will start flooding the eshop with Wii games for the eshop besides Nintendo games. RE4 for Wii would be a good game. Also Madworld and maybe the Wii Sports games because they are definitive Wii games. And announce GCN games at E3.

I agree with all of this actually

I'm a Toad fan and am waiting for Captain Toad to go down in price before buying it. I don't have any Amiibo but am still tempted to get the Toad one just to have it

I was more excited last year for MK and Smash, but 2015 has some games I'm looking forward to.

That might be true for me too but I didn't get much time with MK or SSB yet so I get to enjoy them this year. Plus, the DLC will help.

I'm hoping for a Paper Mario announcement at E3!

You should play them more! Both are awesome.

A paper Mario announcement would make this E3 the best one ever!

Well, Smash Bros should be here tomorrow and I have been playing Mario Kart. I'll get the DLC a bit later

I think the style of Paper Mario in HD would look really nice. Let's hope it plays like the first 2 games. (Although I liked SS more than TTYD)

Noo, TTYD was the best one! But I really need to replay TTYD and the N64 one again so I hope Nintendo brings them to the Wii U.

To be fair, I haven't played TTYD in a long time. I no longer have the game so can't give it another go. I remember it being pretty good but being my least favorite out of the 4.

I also lost the original VC version when I sold my first Wii U. I plan on buying it again though. I agree,bNintendo needs to bring both to the Wii U store
