Forums - Nintendo - Ideas for WiiU bundles this year?

Splatoon pack for summer would be awesome! By then the new ip will have gained some great word of mouth buzz and you could promote the shit out of it.

btw, I love that gamecube set above! Whomever created it is awesome. Wouldn't buy it, but it's awesome.

Mario Party 10
Smash 4
Splatoon

Since everyone and their mother is going to say Zelda and Smash, I have a couple that could perhaps branch out to different demographics after the innevitable price cut:

Bayonetta 2 bundle. Limited probably.

Xenoblade Chronicles X bundle. The franchise is up and coming and has the makings of a heavy hitter and a bundle, especially if it launches in September, could make a lot of noise to lead into fall, 2015.

Also, I'll say Splatoon could be a great game to bundle. I think the price cut to $250 will happen right after the end of the fiscal year or not long after; the boost this provides would be a good wave for Splatoon to ride going into the summer.

I'll agree with you on xenoblade. It's a more appealing wii u bundle to me than a wii u/zelda u bundle. I picked zelda u for a wii u bundle because it would drive up sales pretty good. There's I don't how many Link avatars around here. haha.

not a bad marketing idea, actually... probably too many free games, tho, unless there's a markup. if there's a price drop of $50, this retailing for $300 would be pretty irresistible...

There's no way in hell they're gonna bundle $180 worth of games for that cheap, price cut or not.

Golden Zelda Wii U, that is all.

I wanted a gold console when Wind Waker HD was released but instead they gave us a crappy decal on the gamepad.

The Super Duper Pack, coming with Sonic Boom, Meme Run, and The Letter already downloaded.

In all honestly, I think they should release a special edition Zelda U bundle, with a really snazzy Gamepad and Pro Controller, or Mario Maker + Mario Vs. Donkey Kong in a bundle (with the download code for Mario Vs. DK on 3DS still included).

No way that's happening. Zelda's their money maker. I see them bundling Splatoon. It needs the exposure and bundle sales will give it that.

they are going to nintendoland the hell out of splatoon (cuz that's now a verb).

nintendoland, v. trans.

to bundle the f*ck out of a game in order to artificially inflate sales and get people who were going to buy the system anyway to maybe play it at some point, but don't hold your breath dude.

ex. noa totally nintendolanded super mario bros. u.; now it's the bestselling game on the system.

AND IT WILL WORK!!1! (for the record, i still, as a matter of principle, have yet to play my complimentary nintendoland.)

If they decide to heavily promote it then a Splatoon bundle coupled with a $50 price cut could maybe do something.

It looks like nintendo are trying to maximise profits or minimise losses.  I doubt a price cut will come with their biggest game in the first half of 2015.

Mario Kart 8 bundle with 4 controllers but without GamePad for 299.

Hey, I can dream, can't I? =P
