These Holidays proved price is one of the biggest factors in the US and that XBOX is more popular than playstation (in the US). I have no reservation that it won't, these last 2 months almost completely wiped away 10 straight months of ps4 omination.

Your reasoning is very very flawed.

So in one sentence you admit that price is a very big factor then in the same sentence say the cheaper console is more popular?

Which ever console sells more when both are at the same price point, is the preferred console. I wonder what you will say when/if even bring cheaper through the year the PS4 is still out selling the XB1 in the US. that oughta be interesting.

Neither Bloodborne or The Order are system sellers, they are games many with the current system will buy.

And if not?

How does the Xbox being cheaper than the PS4 prove that? Once both system were priced equally again the PS4 seemed to be taking the upperhand pretty easily (looking at Amazon).

It boggles the mind to claim that Xbox is more popular than Playstation in the USA when at the same price point PS4 significantly outsells Xb one. I GUARANTEE, the only reason MS re-price cut Xb one was because sales fell through the floor and PS4 started outselling it by a big margin. For Xbox to actually win the entire generation in the USA Xb one will need to remain cheaper than PS4 for pretty much the rest of the generation. If the two consoles spend most of the time at the same price PS4 will sell the most.

So ps4 only won the first 7 months becuase it was  50-100 dollars cheaper, got it.

Not but a potential 700k  gap reduction in 2 months is HUGE

You mean 6, not 7. And the PS4 was not cheaper than the XB1 in July, August, September and October. Personally, I think the PS4 will keep outselling the XB1 these months despite the price cut. But the gap growth will be slower than last year, which opens up the possibility for X1 to overtake LTD at the very end of the year if Sony does not take a similarly aggressive approach.

These holidays proved that Xbox can only beat PS4 at a sifnicantly better price.

Almost completely wiped away is an interesting term.  Did PS4 only sell a couple 100k?

Now explain the months where both were at 399 lol

700k gap reduction is still smaller than a 1.5m gap gain haha. PS4 should gain again this year with the holidays up for grabs again.

While $50 cheaper, with 2 games, during a Holiday period. I don't think anyone would be surprised if PS4 wins the coming NPDs, even with XB1 dropping to $350 again (sales probably dropped like a rock at $400 beyond even Microsoft's expectation).

Also, it seems like you are completely ignoring the fact that PS4 has big exclusive games releasing in 2015 with already The Order and Bloodborne in the coming months. Also, you seem to be completely ignoring the fact that Sony could also drop the price to $350 in the future. Also, the gap is still ~600k, the same amount Microsoft wiped away in Nov en Dec.

Also, you didn't answer the question. I shall demand a Knack avatar if PS4 is still leading by January 1st in the US.

Bloodborne is selling the system to me. Lol

I think these holidays prove that the US gaming audience is more impartial when it comes to console alegience. It seems like they go for the better deal. When the consoles were priced evenly PS4 was edging out XBO...which would indicate that PS4 is more popular than XBO...but popularity imo doesnt compare to value offered.

I think Sony would have needed to differentiate themselves much more if they wanted to keep the advantage despite a price difference.

If the "leaked" hardware numbers for the 3 systems really are what Neogaf is saying then I'd call that pretty damn good. A 100k difference in December? That's a lot smaller than I expected.

Both will move hardware. Also, the PS4 will be getting games like Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD, Toukiden Kiwami, Omega Quintet, MLB 15: The Show, Tropico 5, and Grim Fandango: Remastered. What does the X1 have to counter these games over the first half of this year?
