Interesting they are looking for a partner considering they bought out Ericsson's stake just a few years ago. Anyone remember Sony Ericsson? Fair to say that was a bad call in hindsight.

It's a darn shame. While I prefer the Nexus line, the Sony phones are amazing. Much better than those Lagwiz Galaxies -_-

Theres too much money they invested in random stuff that makes it hard to make a profit. Computers, Phones, TVs, Blu ray, and god knows what other electronics. Even working on 1 TB discs. Its hard to compete in these things when other companies are making them better and cheaper. Sony needs to get out of this stuff and concentrate on their banking and insurance business. That is where their big money is coming from. They'd be very rich of they just concentrated on that.

Hell I even think they would be better off selling the PlayStation brand to Samsung. Gaming is a volatile market and its too easy to post losses without the right business model.

But I get what you're getting at. Sony Executives are already debating whether or not PS5 will be a physical or Cloud based console. If they do go cloud based they will save tons of money and it would be nearly all profit without having physical media and second hand sales to hold them down. If PS Now on non Sony devices takes off I could see PlayStation 5 on everything from phones, tvs, tablets, to even PC and the other consoles. But a lot of ducks will have to line up for it to happen. 

What a shame... I like their phones... But no point in bleading money.

Those two are great but PS is their connection to their past of making hardware and awesome products.  That and the potential of it is insamly huge, PS on every device known to men.  The profits holy fuck they can become apple like.  

Yeah. I think that is their plan for the future of PlayStation. I'm sure that every PS4 will run it. Along with every other device known to man. There will be no more billions wasted developing hardware. No more worries about hardware sales, no more worries about GameStop trying to chip away the profits, and no more hardware restrictions. No more worries about APUs or CPU bottlenecks. Every game that comes out for it should be the best version possible. The possibilities are limitless if they go this route. Along with the money. It could save their company if they do it right. But if they keep trying to go the physical console route I think they would be better off going with the Samsung idea and focus on their banking and insurance businesses.

The xperia z series of phones are fantastic and I've always had sony mobiles, but it annoys me that they release a flagship phone every 6 months, the tv line up is great but too expensive with too many competitors selling similar spec tv's at a much lower price
