Eh, I'm not convinced the release of one will affect the other. What I mean is, I doubt there's many people who would not buy Kirby & the Rainbow Curse because they bought a New 3DS instead. I think it's a different market for each. Just my opinion though...

I'll get a New 3DS but not right away

XBOX ONE/Wii U/3DS/PC

Worth a try I guess :/

Hope they don't find it during expection xD

Honestly I think I wanna keep it anyway so no worries!

I will buy the red one. Sold my 3ds when i still got money for it. Finally they bring mh to europe (the only game on a nintendo system that could bind me more than 10 hours before it landed on ebay) .

Jup jup if internet works fine with the 3ds, the next 500 hrs gameplay are planned

I'll get it, just not at launch anyways.

Guess we'll truly know tomorrow during the Nintendo Direct, but this looks 100% legit.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

coloured buttons? don't care either way!

So the price for a regular is 169 and a XL is 199 €/$. It's still really expensive, I expected a reduced price to attract new costumers and people who want to upgrade. Now a lot of people will sell their 3DS, and it's price used is going to go down. Nintendo runs the risk of reducing its potential sales.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

The price is fine because initial sales will be strong, probably a slump during the summer then comes the holidays when we will see a bunch of sales/deals/bundles. A price cut early 2016 would make sense.

The point of New 3DS/XL is to boost sales without having to take a cut on profits so that's why the price will stay the same initially. Same with 2DS, they didn't want to do a price cut and reduce profits so they released an entry-level sku with features taken out.
