The price is fine because initial sales will be strong, probably a slump during the summer then comes the holidays when we will see a bunch of sales/deals/bundles. A price cut early 2016 would make sense.
The point of New 3DS/XL is to boost sales without having to take a cut on profits so that's why the price will stay the same initially. Same with 2DS, they didn't want to do a price cut and reduce profits so they released an entry-level sku with features taken out.
When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.
