Look at Metacritic. The love for Knack and Sunset was not equal. Knack just sold well due to bundles and PS4 rush season hype. I think you're referring to Ryse which got similar reviews to Knack.

Metacrap is garbage. I don't go by a site that uses aonymous users... er, trolls. I go by actual people, playing actual games, who I know don't have agendas. In both Knack and Sunsets defense, THOSE types of people loved both games. I never hear anybody complain about them.

Admirable, but those people are rare (non-troll, fanboy or authoritive reviwer opinions). Sunset and Knack are nothing alike outside of the colorful Pixar look. To bolster my point about it being the Xboxes knack, if Sony hadnt demanded to keep the IP to the game this title would've been exclusive to the PS4. Also, for it to be like Knack it would have to a true platformer. This game wasnt meant to be an answer to anything Sony has, but rather for Insomniac to fulfill a vision that they've had for years. After playing the game i've realized that this is essentially the culmination of everything they've worked for. Of course they'll never be an "A" team, but they don't need to be. Knack got a lot of criticism by the press for actually pushing back the platformer genre rather than pushing it forward. Sunset Overdrive was praised for changing the way we see open world even though it isn't a console seller. You'll see what I mean one day. The game will most likely be dirt cheap by then.
