Well I split my time between two places in the world. Most of the year I'm in Canada, and for 4 months I live in Dubai.

In Ontario, I think the PS4 is the most popular, but the X1 is catching up because its been cheaper for many months. Wii U is doing alright too, but most people own either an X1 or PS4 at least that's the case with my friends.

In Dubai, the Wii U is very unpopular. Many stores don't even sell it, and game stores have a tiny section for it. Its also very expensive. PS4 is by far the most popular console there, as was the PS3. Sony has been the most popular in the middle east for many years. X1 sells more than the Wii U, but its no where near as popular as the PS4.

I have heard (on the bus) of one person having an Xbox One. They were terribly misinformed (overheard them saying they needed a 120hz TV in order to see it correctly). A lot of PS4s and I'm the only one with a WiiU. I live in a massive college town (50,000 students) so it's a good demographic to have and it appears Sony has really turned things around as Xbox 360s are abound but many have already switched or are thinking of it or intending to when cheaper.

Some holdouts include my roommates who...I dunno they don't even want the exclusives and really enjoy LBP and are amazed at the stuff I get free but the one is hardline on achievements and couldn't stand to leave his behind and the other is just a fanboy (we avoid the subject). No amount of him liking exclusives, loving the free games more, getting more power for the same price on the third party stuff (the only stuff other than my PS exclusives he plays) will persuade him lol. Not sure why as he's a pretty casual gamer I actually just think he's a MS fanboy overall because he has a Zune, Surface, 360, and a bevy of other MS products and will trash on every one of the competitors to those products. I'm not saying PS4 is for everyone but his decision seems irrational.

Amiibo and smash did the trick in my area.

The surrounding stores are sold out of smash and amiibo. Wii U are gone at Big W and target as well.

Everyone i know (that plays games) has a ps4

i would guess atleast 7 ps4s amongst my friends

Only time X1 is mentioned is for Halo, but most of us are at the age where our reflexes are too lame for Halo
(P.S. I'm only 25, but my reflexes are not even close to what they used to be)

Seems to be slightly average on my island, some Wii U sales, about even for XB and PS here with more DS sales but still a major lack of Vita sales (most cited seems to be the high price coupled with high memory cost).

From work i have witnessed around 40 total ps4 sales since launch and 2 xb1's..
Saw one wii u sold. (to my friend)

In my personal life i know 4 other people who own a ps4 aswell as myself amd no one who owns an xb1

I know one who owns a wii u (said friend)

Quite a few people have a Wii U

There 2 people that I know that have a PS4

And almost everyone I know has a XB1, you know, MURCA!

Pretty much everyone has a 3DS

I know 1 person that has a PSV

I live in Hungary.
The city is around 80k people.

In my city I am probably the only Wii U owner.

PS4/Xbox One sales a few.

PC is the preferable choice, since its cheaper, people in Hungary don't do a lot of Money to spend in gaming, east europe in general.

Hard to say since I dont avidly watch people buy consoles. But I do see people buy PS4s and 3DSs.
So to hazard a guess

PS4 selling well
Xbone selling ok
Wii U selling ok

All in all, its about the same for the past few gens.

Former 360 fans still want Xbox one and are willing to argue u to death that the Xbox one is better than the ps4 because it has unlocked CPU power(and no matter what u show them.. They are right).. Ps4 is doing well tho.. Everyone is buying one who isn't an Xbox fan
