Forums - Gaming - So tell us how ps4, xbox one, and wii u are doing in your town/city..

In my area i know of zero people with an x1 or a wii u. Tons have a ps4 or want one. Last gen was split between ps3 and Xbox 360 with a lot of people having a wii shared by their family. I'm sure some people i know have a wiiU or an x1 one but nobody mentions it on Facebook or when you talk about games. The ps4 is the cool console to have this gen in my area.

Wouldnt even know about the current gen market in my mid sized city in Sweden. Looking at gamestop as the sole pure videogame store I would say that PS4 would be ahead just looking at the number of games on the shelves and then would Wii U come and then Xbox One...

Still think most are using last gen games though.

I live in Brussels and among the next gen consoles I think it is something like this: PS4: 75% XOne: 15% WiiU: 10%

From what I can tell based on friends in my hometown, the ps4 seems to be winning by a decent margin. I don't know anyone who owns a wiiU, I know 3 or 4 people who own xbox one, and I know 7 or 8 people who own a ps4. At college, I know 1 person with an xbox one, and several who own ps4's. Most people that I know at college haven't made ethe jump to next gen yet though.

I live in Pennsylvania, I know five people who own a next gen console, I'm sure there's many more but as I said I only know of five. Anyway, four of the five owns only a PS4, and one only owns an Xbox One. Two of the five own both though, and the one with only an Xbox One is buying the PS4 when Uncharted comes out. I know many more people who really want a PS4 though.

Report from Calgary, AB, Canada:

It's not really related but It's taking away entertainment money; Ipad is by far the most popular gaming device and family now are having multiple Ipad. This generation most popular gaming device is by far smart phone and tablets. It's not a console but it's hurting consoles sales.

PS4: Is by far the best selling console; Many people in town went from Xbox 360 to PS4; they lost some steam in March 2014 when they hike the PS4 by $50 due to currency reason.

Xbox One: Was doing bad because it was overpriced and popularity of PS4, The bundle and price cut as help boost sales. I think Xbox one was really popular during the holidays.

WiiU: Since it came on sales it's been overstock and demand is low still. Casual market would rather buy an $500 Ipad then a WiiU and gamers aren't budging.

Of my 10 friends in town(including me) .... 2 friends converted from Xbox360 to PS4; 2 friends went from PS3 to PS4; 3 friends with Xbox 360 got Xbox One; The other 3 guys bought gaming PC and aren't interested in next gen consoles. I think I'm the only one that got the WiiU.

I also took the liberty to add handhelds and if X360 and PS3 were to be added they would be just above the Xbox One.

1. PS4 ( Selling like hot cakes )
2. Xbox One ( Selling decently though downrightpoornwhen compared to the PS4 )
3. 3DS ( Selling decently though most owners are kids and I still see more kids playing on their PSP's instead of the 3DS )
4. Wii U ( Selling very poorly, I so far have only one friend who owns one and my gaming store has a ton of stock left from launch )
5. PS Vita ( I hardly doubt it even sold one unit. I've never seen anyone using it outside which is surprising considering that the PSP was everywhere until 2011 )

Easy for me:
PS4 sells out quickly everytime it gets stocked.
PS3 still sells great, lots of bundles to choose from.

Almost nobody even stocks XOne or WiiU, and if there are stores that have them you can be sure those same units will still be there next month.

In Rome PS4 has been selling great since launch, like in all Europe.   I ordered PS4 before launch but I couldn't have one before mid Dec.  On the other hand, you could easy find plenty of XOne without preordering, on Day One.
