No TLOU, no vote.

But was it actually revolutionary?

I bet the Wii U would sell more than 15M LTD by the end of 2015. He bet it would sell less. I lost.

As much as I don't care for the series, I'd go with Halo. It did a hell of a lot for the FPS genre.

Halo: CE and Gears of War aren't console exclusive. EDIT: ok, PC ports don't count, lol.

Maybe Devil May Cry or Wii Sports.

They aren't on any other console are they?

I mean that they aren't exclusive to consoles.

EDIT: ah, ok, I use the term "console exclusive" differently.

TLOU for showing that games can reach mainstream media without being linked to school shootings.

Wii Sports showed this way more, the mainstream coverage was probably a hundred times bigger than for TLOU (and unlike TLOU Wii Sports can actually be called revolutionary).

Let me tell you from my high horse that Wii Sports isn't really a game. It's a fitness app. Also Wii isn't a console. It's a fitness app enabler.

If by revolutionary you mean what games are most emulating it, then out of those, Gears of War. However, RE4 influenced Gears of War, so then my answer would ultimately be RE4.

I know it was cited that RE4 inspired using 3rd person perspective, but they have little in common other than both are 3rd person.  Gears of War's key mechanics are cover based shooting, and moving from cover to cover.  Those are features that are inspired by other games (Kill Switch) but mixed in an evolutionary way in Gears of War.

Many of the list have evolved their genres and inspired others.  Personally I went with Gears of War overall, for evolving cover based shooting, co-op play, and several interesting multiplayer modes.

My 8th gen collection

GTAIII in its day. It became multi-plat later.

Wii Sports?

Yes is is. To such an extent that every other game feels ridiculous to me now. TLOU basically ruined gaming for me as an adult.
