I will repeat bad journalism...

Do you know what this means - (Nintendo reportedly, inexplicably wants a doughnut-shaped display with a hole in the middle.

It means the journalists have information that Nintendo have asked for a doughnut shaped screen.

Just stop it tak.

To be fair, I would hardly call them journalists if they fail to link to a source for that claim.

Not sure they can out their source like that.

For the record I think a doughnut shape handheld is absurd and won't happen, QOL :P

If it's doughnut shaped, it's got to be for QOL.

How many journalists have you ever seen link to a source for rumours and such? Maybe it isn't true, but if it is then whoever leaked that information almost certainly won't want their name mentioned.

Well first of all actual journalists will certainly not stoop so low as to put an unconfirmed rumor as a mere footnote in an article without expanding on it. It's only natural to be scrutinized for that kind of bullshit.

As far as we know it could be something the author saw on 4chan somewhere. They say reportedly but fail to even provide if that information is first hand or just hear say.

Isn't that what all rumours are? If it was confirmed it wouldn't be a rumour anymore.

They can't even be arsed to write "our sources tell us" so it's probably just pulled from someones arse.

If you can't even say where you heard a rumor, chances are you are the one who created it.
