Wii U is probably my first time i bought on day one, the rest took me 3 - 4 years late to buy consoles every next gen, i'm not kidding. Because of school work. :S
As soon as I could purchase my own consoles it went like this.

Sega Saturn
I was not into Playstation 1 when it was released, but when Tomb Raider 2 was announced as a Playstation 1 exclusive, I jumped the Sega ship.
From then on it was Day 1,

I've only ever bought o e console on launch day. That was my Wii U. I just wish I had more rime to get more use of it.A great console.

Never. Dont see the point, too many demand and its a hazzle to get a console not delayed
3DS was the only one, and after playing with only Nintendogs for 4 months while waiting for Ocarina of Time, I learned to wait until a few games that I want are out before getting a console.
Only console I ever got day one was a ps2 as a gift from my mom, and only because it released on my birthday and she also wanted to get in on that dvd craze. Still not really sure how she actually got one, still works too.

None for me, ever since the PS2 days I've always sat back and waited for the libraries to grow and the prices to go down, got my first 3DS and Pokemon Y with FE:A and AC:NL pretty cheap back in 2013 and I'm currently waiting for the Wii U to get a few more games I want and a little cheaper, XB1 I'll probably wait till near the end of the year and hope by the time H5 comes out that it's cheaper by then.

Xbox One and Wii U. Xbox 360. PS2 PS1, Super Nintendo was bought for me for Christmas but was done on launch, I pretty sure my mom did layaway. lol
Pretty damn cool of her if you ask me, as we grew up very poor. What a difference, I start a job making over 6 figures, not next week but the following monday. Had to tell someone, I won't put this sort of thing on facebook and you guys have no clue who I am. LOL
