With the amazing games aforementioned above alone, the Wii U's servers are really gonna be busy this year! Mario Kart 8 will be getting the second DLC pack, Smash Bros. will be getting MewTwo and online tourney mode, and a brand new online multiplayer focused IP will be releasing in the form of Splatoon! That diversity between those three games! A Racer, a Fighter, and a Shooter, the perfect combination for endless hours of multiplayer fun, hence the trifecta! Those three games alone are gonna take up so much of my free time in 2015, and there's still plenty of other games releasing that I want! In addition to the trifecta we know Mario Maker will atleast have level sharing, and other games could potentially have online such as Starfox.
Now that Nintendo has finally gotten some online multiplayer going on the Wii U, should they start heavily advertising the fact that the Wii U is the only Gen 8 console where you can play online for free? Considering it's a new IP they really need to advertise Splatoon heavily anyway, and a plug highlighting how it's an online multipler shooter you can play online for free sounds like a pretty good draw. Now of course I know that Wii U besting PS4 or XB1 isn't a possibility at this point, so you could say what's the point in trying to compete directly with em, but the Wii U can still try to sell as good as it can. Better yet it'd make it look better as secondary console versus PS4 + XB1 as you'd only have to pay for one online service instead of two in addition to cheaper price, a more different game library, etc.
Those are just my thoughts of course. Nintendo might just continue to have been doing lately, which is not much of anything. Would be a major shame as I feel if marketed well Splatoon could grow into Nintendo's next major IP. I mean it's an online multiplayer shooter from Nintendo, nuff said right, but it's also much more accessible than other shooters since even if you're not that good, you wouldn't be too much of a burden and can still contribute to the team. That's possible due it's unique mechanics, and I'll bet Shooter fans are eager to try something completely different, and more colorful hehe. Yeah as you can tell I'm pretty hyped for Splatoon lawlz, but anyways I've rambled on enough, what be your thoughts on this!?
