The game went from selling 2(!!!) copies in one week in August to selling over 27k in the last week? That makes no sense at all, even with a sales.

Thanks for the info . This chart does show a pick up in sales starting in November  and leading into December so this is holiday sales based. Dec. is interesting though with it selling 2k on 12/7, 4k on12/14, and 9k on 12/21  so it was gaining momentum. I think maybe Bayoneta 2  sold some on Wii U  and they might have wanted another mature game so they picked this one up. Also this weeks chart goes beyond Christmas maybe alot of gamers  that got the Wii u that day as a gift went out and got a cheap mature game for there new system , which would help explain the jump from 9k to 27k.

DerNebel has a point though, it probably was just a VGC algorithm that came up with that number. ioi probably didn't even know about it (there is absolutely no way he checks the sales number for every single game every week).


You probably guys hasn't see that has happened with other games too!And I will repeat,just ask him,no need to insult vgc in vain...It's unfair!

No you didn't explain shit, buddy. Stop defending this ridiculousness just because it's Nintendo and you like what you're seeing. Sometimes vgchartz systems just give out numbers that are obviously wrong and everytime I see something like that I'll point it out.

Like e.g. MH4 having 160k pre orders in the US or PS4 software being at 82.9 million at the end of Dec. 27th even though official numbers prove that that is extremely overtracked or when Wii U numbers for months were ridiculously close to shipment numbers or this Ninja Gaiden situation.

Well if I am any evidence to go by I bought a wiiu in early december mostly because of bayo2, then I ended up buying ninja gaiden 3 and w101 after because they were cheap. Would not be surprised if this was a trend, if you are gamer like me who likes hack and slash and got bayo 2 you are probably going to pick up the others if they are cheap.

That being said ninja gaiden 3 is nowhere near the level of bayo and I am still to play w101.

This. I think Bayoneta helped alot for Nintendo more than what people here think.

This is because Ninja Gaiden was on sale for $5.00 throughout the holidays at a couple different retailers. I picked mine up at Walmart the week of Christmas

People who say 30k isn't possible are in the dark. It had an 8k opening week at an inflated price. At 5 dollars I would even be tempted to grab it for my Wii-U if I saw it for that at a retailer. Wii-U is selling over 200k a week this holiday. Is it really unbelievable for you people that a portion of those new Wii-U buyers saw the game at 5 dollars and thought it was worth picking up new?
