So I COULD HAVE bought a PS4 during the Holidays (I wanted to post this up earlier, but I was too into the all the games I splurged on :-/) at a great price too: $330 after taxes. A local mom and pops shop (slang for small business) was having their own Black Friday sale on it, and I strongly pondered getting one. Question I have for PS4 owners is, should I have STILL gotten one if:
- All the PS4 games I want are on the PS3
- Great Graphics aren't necessary for me to enjoy a game (I still play PSP and DS games)
- I use my PS3 as a 3D Blu-Ray player, and 3D capabilities aren't available on the PS4 yet (least last I heard, but I admit I haven't done my research on this for a while)
- No PS4 exclusives appeal to me at this time (not until SFV anyway).
- No backwards compatibility to the PS3 (I would have bought one release date it was, as I bought many old PS3 games this holiday I haven't played yet).
- Only game I am interested in for this year is the DMC reboot (but again this is available on the PS3).
- By the time games come out for it that I want, it will probably be cheaper (this same store has specials like this on Black Friday every year. Maybe a price cut would make their Black Friday price $300 for 2015?).
So even with all my preferences, should I have still gotten a PS4? Is there something I am missing or don't know about that I didn't mention?
