it's gone from 95 to 86 to 44. Not a half bad turn around.
But captain toad debuting at #52 is bad. Who published that game?

Nope. It debuted at #1 in Germany

Thats it's week 2. But it did well if week 2 is #1

Just look at the same old stuff, namely Fifa.

Captain Toad was released at January 2nd in Europe - so it wasn't released in week 52, 2014 but at week 1, 2015 where it debuted officially at #1  in Germany. The Week before are just some retailers selling the game early.

Ah, ok, Captain Toad at #52 were the early sales because of the broken street date.

Here are the yearly Top 100: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=146359466&postcount=1

LOL @ Gran Turismo 6 at #50 on the PS3! That game has climbed a lot recently.

I hope it keeps climbling a lot. It's a great game!

yeah it deserves it. hopefully polyphony give us some solid sales numbers later this year or when GT7 or the prologue release. it sure has had great legs despite releasing at the worst time possible.

I don't know about the numbers, but it won't reach the normal GT 10M-ish numbers.
They should do something else to promote the game, they still keep adding stuff to the game and making it better, and their Vision cars project with real brands is just great. 5 to 6M would let me happy already.

VGC (almost certainly) have GT at least 1 mill undertracked, due to their track record (I mean why on earth would you adjust down GT5 to below the march 2013 shipment numbers, are you really trying to tell me that 200k copies of GT5 have been sitting on shelves for 18ths? especially when GT6 had been out for almost half of those months, coupled with GT5:P and GTPSP both being 1 mill undertracked...), and more importantly this ->http://www.gtplanet.net/2-5-million-people-downloaded-aston-martins-vision-gt-car-in-gran-turismo-6/ Where at this point in time, VGC only has it at ~2.8m. So VGC is trying to say that 90% of the userbase for the game is active, you'd be lucky to have 50% of you're install base active after 9 months after release.

I thing GT6 is at about 6.5mill sold as of now, which is kind of damning for VGC, but oh well, the staff clearly struggle immensely to track the games, especailly as they're strong in VGC's weakest areas. One thing is for certain, in a few years or whenever PD decide to update their sale figures (most likely in line with GT7's release) there SHOULD be multimillion unit adjustments to the franchise overall, as it's a mess.

VGChartz don't track digital sales, and I'm pretty sure GT6 did really well in this area.
They have it at 3M right now, which is only retail.
Considering the link you gave me, it's obviously well over 4.5M sales at this point if 2.5M people downloaded that single car (that I'm pretty sure I've not!).
What would give us digital sales in a 1:2 proportion with retail... well, that's quite hard to happen as well I guess.
Maybe it's indeed over 5M already (6.5M seems way too much to me), and that would be great! What would mean an undertrack in retail sales.

I know PD release total numbers for GT games, but I dunno how frequently they release that, as last numbers were almost 2 years ago.
Here: http://www.polyphony.co.jp/english/list.html

Maybe it's on par with GT 5 prologue? (that thing sold over 5M, LOL).

It's almost certainly over 5m IMO (incl. digital) and whilst digital is certainly growing, with how crap the ps3 was at downloading from the store, and then the install, I can't see that many downloading such a big game, especially with it being so freely available, and down to a reasonable price so quickly, so retail is minium 4.5m imo. But even still 50% of install base still active seems ridiculous to me, that's why I pushed it up higher to 6.5m. It's a good million behing GT5 regardless though (IMO). It's most likely between 5.5m and 6m imo, but I'm being optimistic with 6.5 so yeah :)

I knew that something weird is happening!I said it to you kerotan!Captain toad debuted 1st in Germany,it released in the 1st week of 2015,in the week 52 2014 simply a few stores broke the release date and some copies leaked, that's why you see it 52nd in the 52nd week of the year...!

So 1ST on its official week of release!CELEBRATION!
