Well :) I just finished the game in co-op with my girlfriend on new year's eve and we had a lot of fun with it and we really liked the story. But yes, opinions :) Let's be happy and thankful that there are different opinions, really!

People who like Halo-like games own an X-Box. It's not just about Halo itself, it's about the knowledge that X-Box is an American console aimed almost exclusively on American audience, just like Halo is. PlayStation excels in Europe and Asia and they don't need or want a Halo-like game.

^This. If I wanted to play Halo, I'd have gotten the X1 instead. IDK why anyone would buy a PS console to play a "proper Halo game"

I will agree that the way most of the Halo story is told is definately sub par, but on the other hand I feel the Gears story itself is incredibly...I guess cheesy and cliche.

Resistance probably could have been close if the 2nd one didn't take a huge step back from the first. First one was awesome, but then the 2nd became a generic shooter if you ask me. Or maybe it just had great sales due to lack of choice when it launched...whatever.

In answer to your question, probably not. You could sort of say Uncharted, at least in terms of good sales and being a shooter...but the online fanbase isn't even close.

There are too many shooters on the market as it is. Can't there just be one Halo-like series, and can't it just remain a Microsoft exclusive?
