Forums - Gaming - I finally retired my PS2 today.

It was the most beautiful of times

I retired mine not long after PS3 launch cause I had a model with BC

But it still works and ocasionally i boot it up to give it a "yearly spin"

The PS2 was awesome, such an amazing console.

If I remember correctly, I retired mine in 2009 when I bought a PS3.

Mine is still plugged in but I'm a retro gamer so I also have things like an NES, Dreamcast and SNES plugged in as well. I find that the nostalgia is stronger in the mind than it is in practice though. There are only a handful of games that I think can stand up to the march of time and most of those are of the 8-bit variety.

It's fun to go back for a little bit and experience games, but 99% of the time, you're left with that empty feeling of "wow, this feels ancient" lol

I retired mine after Achievements/Trophies made games matter and playing games that don't increase the size of my e-penis is a waste of time.

Still play my PS2 occasionally. It's almost 10 years since I have it but now my main gaming machines are PC and PS Vita.

My first PS2 was a PS3 with BC. I retired it recently because of sudden scarcity of HDMI ports on my TV.

May God guild you R.I.P

PS4s come with bibles now to help ease the pain of one's that pass on.

Today I unplugged my PS2 (but still use it occasionally for DVDs). I guess every now and then through the years I'll play it.

I recently retired my Gamecube from my table top, but only because I didn't have much room to fit 4 different consoles on it once I got a Wii U. Well that and the wires would make too much of an entanglement. Plus it saves power.

I still feel attached to the GC and PS2.
