Actually, it has. The 360 passed the Wii (if I'm not mistaken), but something like that is generally rare. I agree with your bottom line, though. The PS4 will remain ahead in the US. If and when trends start showing a sudden one-sided favoring of the X1, then I think it'll be time to concede. But only then.

The wii is a special case, we all know that, ps4 sales are not going to tank later like wii's did, wii was a different animal, different market.

You're running on the assumption that 360 users will automatically get an X1 and that is deeply flawed. One thing's for sure is that the majority of a console's userbase is not loyal to the company who makes that particular console. This was proven from the transition from the PS2 to PS3. We are seeing a similar situation with the transition from the 360 to X1. The PS4 is winning over what I call the "swing" gamers. These gamers hold no preference for one company over another and will purchase the console they think has better value.

And this is why the PS4 is outselling the X1 even though the X1 is cheaper by $50 with two games instead of just one. Gamers see that there is more value in the PS4. Grim Fandango Remastered is coming out on the 27th; The Order: 1886 comes out next month; Bloodborne in March; MLB 15: The Show in March; Toukiden Kiwami in March; Omega Quintet in April; and Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD in spring. There are several other games coming out such as Tearaway Unfolded, Ratchet and Clank Redux, The Tomorrow Children, Wild, No Man's Sky, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, The Forest, Rime, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, and lots more. What does the X1 have to match the PS4 in terms of quality and quantity?

The PS4 is outselling the X1 in most retailers in the US despite that it has a $50 price disadvantage. X1 taking the US is not set in stone. As seen last year, winning January to (end of) October was more beneficial than winning November & December. What if the PS4 wins November and December, too? Even if not, what if the PS4 only got outsold by 200K for the holiday season?

I see what you're saying, but this doesn't appear to be the case, as both the X1 and PS4 are smashing sales records for the respective companies. It seems extremely unlikely that those mostly new customers, as current gamers are the most likely to go out and purchase a new product as first adopters. I play Destiny with a group of friends that have all upgraded to this gen, for example. Of the 7 of us, 1 owns both consoles, I came over from PS3, and the other 5 came over from X360. With regards to the $500 price tag, the PS4 is currently leading the X1 at $350, so we have to wait and see if that trend continues. If it does, there's really no reason to think that the X1 will win the US.

I'd assume when they get them you will have the option to chooce between last of us bundle or standalone.  Just like they did with the holiday bundle.

No. It's done when the post is going to be prefaced with a nonsensical idea about the console. Your "inevitable" claim is baseless. Things have been going in the complete opposite direction this generation.

Watch more closely the whole situation: Look at what has just being released on BestBuy and now already in 15th position:

The current PS4 ranked 3rd never included TLOU, even when it was beating the XB1, it was including some wired headset (not anymore).



That must of just got there i didn't see that. That's definitely going to push sales. Now Amazon, Walmart and Gamestop needs the same thing. They're still selling the regular model. And yeah BB was giving away that free headset. Was that advertised? I didn't know about it until i scrolled down on the PS4 page.
