PS4 is #4 and Xbone is #18

So it's ahead of a free game and just behind the PSN cards. I'm really curious to see how much the PS4 will sell for January.

Agreed.  This month will be the first valid baseline indicator for the PS4.  No supply issues.  Moderate game releases but nothing special.  Healthly library.  No fire sales to throw numbers off either.  Do you have any predictions? My guess is about 250k.

I'm thinking along the same lines as you are, so 250K.

#6 PS4
#34 XBO

The domination is getting high!

I don't understand why the Xb1 is that low. It hasn't been that low all month. The lowest I've seen it is at 23 and I check it a lot.

3rd party sellers? That's the only conclusion I can come up with because otherwise, I have no idea.

Because it shows the full amount sold... it is not an average of hourly positions. #20 in hourly could be 10 units or 1000 units, depending on which period we're talking about. all relative

Ah good point, never even thought of that and I'm normally good with stuff like this!

Think about it this way:

The charts have been very vilotile with titlese coming in and out.  Even if the Xbox One hovers around number 20, there have been a slew of products that have passed it, sold more and dropped back down.  Look at the Zelda statue.  It sold out very quickly, and dropped back down... but because it sold sold well while it was avalible, it passed Xbox One for the week.   A lot of times you will have a product that is on sale for just one week.    It will move a metric shit ton and then drop off the list.  Thats all you are seeing here.

So the fact that the PS4 is sitting so high compared to the Xbox One for the week indicates that it is shipping very well.  Consistently.

After months of watching Amazon data, I've come to the following conclusions.

The bestsellers is where a lot of people get confused, they believe that it's the best selling items for the previous hour but that simply isn't true. It the best selling items over the past week that is updated hourly. This is why it took over a week for the PS4 to get a good lead over the X1 after the price went back to normal.

Also people get confused what to mention in your comment. Item 'x' can spend all week hovering around a certain position only to be much lower in the weekly or monthly chart. This is due to other items spending a shorter time above item 'x' but selling alot while it's above item 'x' before dropping back down the chart. If, for example, 10 items did this, it can outsell item 'x' overal for the month/week and knock item 'x' down 10 places lower than where it's been hovering all week/month while those 10 item are now nowhere to be on the bestsellers. This is mainly due to price cuts on specific items.

Hope that makes sense

Edit: Late to the party. I just see other comments on this.

This pretty much proves for the XBO to have a chance, it HAS to be at least $50 cheaper than the PS4, with a couple of games thrown in, in order to compete. It'll also be interesting to see if the XBO will follow a sales pattern similar to the Wii in the 2nd half of its life. Mediocre sales until the holidays, then sales will ramp up incredibly.

Also, one must consider that if anyone is buying a XBO online, they'd be a fool not to get it from Amazon, as you'll save $15 (it was even cheaper during the first week or so of Jan.) Everyone else has it for $399. So sales for XBO on Amazon will probably be slightly inflated when compared to other sites.
