Only Nintendo could get a 1/3 of it's home console owners to all buy a game. Just look at the sales of Super Mario 64, Super Smash Bros Melee, Mario Kart Wii and Mario Kart 8 in comparison to their console. Just seriously impressive

Well yeah if Sony sold Uncharted 4 to 1/3 of the PS4 owners it would be because the PS4 sold like shit.
Only other way to do it would be Wii Sports or MKW like bundles

How ironic to post a neogaf thread like this on VGC, a site where this information is just a fingertip away:

http://www.vgchartz.com/gamedb/?name=&publisher=1167&platform=&genre=&minSales=0&results=200

"It's shipment data provided by Nintendo itself directly from their site or other reports which used Nintendo data."

So that is something different than VGC-data.

I know, I was just hinting at ioi's special relationship with gaf.

BTW: If ioi's numbers are somewhat accurate, Nintendo sold almost 1 billion self-published games more than the 2nd most successful competitor. Incredible.

I wonder: Does any other company make more money in this business? Probably Actvision or Electronic Arts (the only real competitors)? I doubt it.

OMG! Quick, people! Let's make threads about how nintendo is in a terrible situation and it should leave videogame bussines!

Not necessarily, Mario 64/Mario Kart 64 sold to 1/3 of N64 owners without ridiculous bundling. The only place u could call N64 a failure was Japan, in the west it retained 90% of the SNES install base.

To me I don't see it like that, rather I see it as the fact that Nintendo gamers are very loyal when it comes to buying Nintendo 1st party games. Even if you look at the 1st party games that sold a 1/10 of what the console did. There is a lot. Nintendo is going no where.

Also, given how badly the Wii U has sold. Mario Kart 8 has sold better than seemingly anything sony or ms has published so far this generation, which is surely a big achievement. The vast majority of that games sales weren't from bundles either
