Reading this thread made me really happy. There's hope for the Wii U yet!
Then again, I haven't actually picked one up yet, so I suppose I should put up or shut up...

Great news and thanks for investigating!
Thats the best possible outcome of 2014 - retailers making more money from Wii U and Nintendo and thus giving more shelf space and presence.
Amiibos will do their job too: I think many will collect them and its essentially buying a second Wii U money wise...
And they would even sell better - at least within the EU / germany - if retailers would present them accordingly. I've seen electronics markets where Amiibos where "dumped" into a bin whereas Skylanders and Infinity had their custom made shelfes. Makes me cry...

Then its about time. Otherwise you won't be able to find the time playing all those games you've missed already...

TRUTH. There is an overwhelming mountain of great content available, and growing quickly. Anyone still not invested and on the fence, shit or get off the pot already. You are missing out big time.

possible I mean looking at global sales smash hasnt dropped below 400k during the holidays yet(1.9 million baby!) |
I dunno, Mario Kart 8 nearly quadrupled the baseline... And while that baseline was super low at the time, it did show some that Mario Kart 8 singehandedly changed the momentum.
Smash Bros would have to keep the Wii U above 100k as the new baseline for me to say it accomplished another change in momentum for the Wii U like Mario Kart 8.
A little bit!
. My Game during Holidays had a lot more Wii U shelf space. Now it decreased by 2(but only because some of the Sonic Boom's, Smash and C.Toads sold out!) , and 3DS shelf space and on-the-shelf game library increased in quantity of different games and quantity of boxes overall.
But the amiibo situation is STILL horrible. Right at the front of till, only a couple characters, and not many of the ones they have.
While the Skylanders/Disney Infinity have about 5 shelves (those hanging things to fit more) each in the middle of the store.
