Dont see why not, its the go to arcade racer for like the next 4+ years now. How many games can claim that about their genre, especially this year.

Well you see Eurogamer disagrees with you, as do many other. Im sure 1 day we will see everybody on the planet agree on 1 single GOTY though, cant be too much longer now can it.

If somebody chooses Mario Kart 8 for GOTY -totally fine with it. Its great and even more so because creating a good sequel is much harder then to impress with a totally new IP...
