You won't see PS4 price cuts for a long time. It doesn't need one. When sales start averaging at 100k or less a week, you'll see a $50-$100 cut, but I don't see that happening next year.

A small loss is nothing for them to worry about, providing they're confident they can make in a reasonable mount of time. They were taking a moderate one at launch ($60~ per unit, if i remember correctly), but 1 game sale and a year subscription to PS+ put it in the black. So a short term loss for a long term gain.

Really though, by this time next year the PS4's profit margin should be pretty large. They'd be able to cut the price even if they were worried about short term losses.

Sony was able to sell PS3 at >$400 for 2.5 years/30(ish)m consoles. I figure once they get around the 30m mark they will drop price as they did with the PS3.

I do expect to see a bigger HDD sku in the coming year as well.

I think they'll cut the price at E3. The PS2 had it's first price drop around the same time.
