It has a "higher density" than the original. The same goes for Vita versions (higher resolution than the PS2 version) and iPad versions (higher resolution than the iphone version).

And don't forget that the original Ace-Attorney-Trilogy were GBA games, which were later upscaled from 240 pixels (GBA) to 256 pixels (DS), which resulted in some ugly jaggies and some color dithering:
