December 25th, 2014 marked the 1 year anniversary of the first day I owned the Wii U, so I thought it would be nice to look back on the year I've had with the console in terms of games. Below, I've listed the games I own:

So, in total I have 20 full retail games (Wii Party U and Game&Wario being free) and two virtual console games.

Overall, I'm pretty proud of my collection. I've been pretty picky with the games I choose to buy, and I absolutely refuse to buy trash games. The only game in my collection that I would call 'meh' is Arkham Origins, because that game was definitely lackluster, but not bad overall. If I had to pick 5 games that I consider to be the best, they would be Smash Bros., Mario Kart 8, Bayonetta 2, Super Mario 3D World and Wind Waker HD, with Pikmin 3, Donkey Kong: TF, ZombiU and Captain Toad being not too far behind. 

It's been an amazing year in gaming for me, mostly thanks to the Wii U. What's your collection so far? Also, what did you pick up in 2014? 

I got like 13 games total retail...

Only bought DK and Mario kart 8 for 2014 games. Haven't even played MK 8 yet either. Still have some 2013 games like 101, Pikmin 3, Zelda, and maybe something else before I buy anything else.

 Next year there is Zelda, Xenoblade and maybe Smashbros down the line. Then my collection is complete and Nintendo can bring on the next console.

Since getting my refurbished Wii U on December 16, I have gotten Super Smash Bros for Wii U, Super Mario 3D World (Digital Copy), Nintendo Land (haven't tried it though), The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD, Bayonetta 1 & 2, Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap (Virtual Console), and Metroid (Virtual Console). I'm planning to get Mario Kart 8 and Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze as soon as I can next year. Smash Bros Wii U was the first Wii U game I ever bought before ordering a refurbished Wii U.
