I think they'll give it away and charge $40 a month to play it, thereby saving you $25 a month if you had to buy all the expansion packs.

she has 8 sims two expansions (with game).
not counting sims 1 game and expansions. which is about 3 or 4.
EA siphens money.

ALL RIGHT!!! finally a game I like for PC!
I stopped buying The Sims 2 packs because they were coming out with too many. And I was waiting for The Sim 3. Hopefully the building mechanics will be much improved. I stopped actually playing the game a while ago, but building houses. Whew that's fun stuff.
I truly think that selling sims content online is a far better model than a zillion fucking expansions per year.
Anyway, I got over sims with the first one.
It's been announced since a while but this is amazing! I really can't wait in 2 weeks to see more screenshots (there are some already from the FreeTime expansion pack teasers) and maybe some new info...

Great, another PC game that I will have to buy - I hope that this game will be at least as good as its predecessors, and hopefully even better.
After that releases i won't get to talk to my wife for months. She loves the sims.

You know, it's funny. The first Sims game was dropped after expansion pack #7, and so too is Sims 2, it seems. Even more amusing is that the expansion packs all seem to parallel each other between the games:
Livin' Large -> University
House Party -> FreeTime
Hot Date -> Nightlife
Vacation -> Bon Voyage
Unleashed -> Pets
Superstar -> Open for Business
Makin' Magic -> Seasons
So I wonder what Sims 3 expansion we'll get. Besides the obvious usual additions of vacations, pets, home businesses, and downtown/nightlife. University and Seasons were the wildcards for Sims 2, and Livin' Large and Makin' Magic for Sims 1.
